    Dave Gilmore and CommScope

    In our sixth episode we chat with Dave Gilmore CommScope. A breakdown of Dave's career to date Driving change in the fast evolving business world. Most recently challenged with driving Supply Chain service response in this COVID environment. Business integration and restructuring following M&A including building new teams where needed. Leading and motivating large supply chain teams with up to 25,000 people globally Optimizing Global footprint - balance between Europe, Asia and Americas - creating sustainable and robust customer service capability Supply Chain management in a dynamic duty environment like Brexit, China and India tariffs Significant experience in Datacenter, Enterprise and Service Provider network infrastructure manufacturing as well as contract manufacturing Cost reduction - through Lean and Kaizen principles and business model simplification. First exposure to this was in my hands on role in Japan at the start of my career. ERP (SAP) implementation and integration on 4 occasions on a global scale with specific focus on order to cash execution. Led the regional manufacturing and supply platforms that include facilities management, purchasing and planning, engineering, operations and quality resources. Regular acquisitions led to regular structural change and redefinition in which I had a central as we matched operational capability to customer service needs. Strong and experienced people coach with significant multifunctional, multinational, diverse teams ranging from hundreds to 25,000 people in my most recent role. Enjoyed building strong teams and relationships in China, India, Australia, Europe, Middle East, North America, South America. A fundamental cornerstone was to culturally understand the people in each region.     Marc Coleman and Octavian

    In our fifth episode we chat with Marc Coleman and his business Octavian.  Marc Coleman is an acclaimed economic author, award winning broadcaster, leading consultant and former senior manager with Ibec. He pioneered accessible forward looking comment on the economy between 2005 and 2015, initiating the “Confidence in Media” event in 2010 with then Finance Minister Brian Lenihan and leading Media CEOs and commentators to shift Ireland’s media narrative away from relentless negativity and towards positivity. Between 2008 and 2014 he promoted Ireland’s economic reputation abroad – countering sensationalist coverage of Ireland’s crisis – by giving speeches in Germany, US, Poland, UK and elsewhere. In 2013 he hosted high profile seminars on Ireland’s banking and fiscal crises. In 2014 he made the case to senior ECB economists for debt relief on Ireland’s IMF debt. In 2015 he became Director of Financial Services Ireland – part of Ireland’s largest business representative body Ibec – and in that capacity established, in 2015, the first Working Group to identify and the challenges of Brexit for the financial services industry. He oversaw strong growth in FSI’s membership and pioneered FinTech and Aviation industry representation. He has pioneered Ibec’s global commercial outreach and hosted multinlingual events.
