Chamomile & Clove - An All Souls Podcast - Episode 68 - Plotschund

Y'all, you know what's coming. It's big, it's messy, it's COLOR-CODED. It's Cait's Book of Life plot slideshow! Once you grab a copy of the slideshow and the beverage of your choice, you're ready to embark upon the semi-epic discussion of the *seven* primary plots in the Book of Life and what does (and doesn't) make the story move. In this episode, we're also talking about character arcs and the results of our Clovers Facebook group polls before moving into our discussion of the themes, motifs, and highs and lows of the Book of Life in our next wrap. If you have something to contribute, now is the time!

Chamomile & Clove - An All Souls Podcast - Episode 67 - Sol in Denouement

Chamomile & Clove - An All Souls Podcast - Episode 67 - Sol in Denouement

We can't believe that the day has finally come, but it's time to close the last cover on Deb Harkness's The Book of Life and close out our chapter discussion of the All Souls Trilogy. Hours and hours of planning and note-taking, laughing, crying, recording, and editing has come to an end. In this episode, we're talking about Chapters 40 and 41 of the Book of Life, including the narrative conceit of blood rage, Diana's character arc, and an unexpected (and apparently VERBOTEN) reference to Grease 2.
We managed to get through it without getting super emotional, but this feels momentous. As we close out the trilogy (and 2019), we want to make sure you know how blessed we are to be a part of this fandom and to have shared this incredibly detailed and magically expansive world with you. Thank you for your comments and e-mails, your tweets and hugs, your thought-provoking and inspiring engagement with this text. What an honor it's been to go on this journey with you.

There's still time to e-mail us your questions and comments for both our Book of Life and trilogy wrap discussions, so please drop us a line at chamomileandclovecast@gmail.com if you've got something to say about this book or ANYTHING ELSE.

Chamomile & Clove - An All Souls Podcast - Episode 66 - The Comeuppance Triptych

Chamomile & Clove - An All Souls Podcast - Episode 66 - The Comeuppance Triptych

It's a momentous day. Somehow, on Matthew and Diana's wedding anniversary (four hundred and something years later), Cait and Jen have made their way to the climax of the Book of Life. In Chapters 37-39, they're talking about rescuing Matthew, James Bond, Peak Diana, moral authority, and the difference between justice and vengeance. It's a fitting end to a momentous, exciting story and C&C is so glad you're a part of it.

Chamomile & Clove - An All Souls Podcast - Episode 64 - The Real Housewives of the Auvergne

Chamomile & Clove - An All Souls Podcast - Episode 64 - The Real Housewives of the Auvergne

In today's episode, we're tackling Sol in Sagittarius -- Chapters 31-33 of Deborah Harkness's The Book of Life. In these chapters, we've got to christen some babies, exchange Christmas presents, check in with the world conflict, and get moving towards The End of the Story. In so doing, we've got time and space to talk about pregnancy and protagonism, plot movements large and small, and what Marcus gave Phoebe for Christmas.

It's hard to believe, but we're closing in FAST on the end of the book and our series wrap episodes. If you have comments to share or topics you'd like us to discuss, we're ready to receive them at chamomileandclovecast@gmail.com.

BethHop766 ,

My favorite all souls podcast

I love this podcast, Cait and Jen are very smart, funny and so insightful. I had read the books several years before the tv show came out, and had not planned to reread them because I was looking at the tv show as its own thing. But after listening to the tv show episode discussions, I decided to start the books all again. I’m enjoying them so much more rereading them and feeling a part of a discussion (even though no one can hear my opinions because a) it’s a recording, and b) they were recorded many months ago!). I do listen to the other all souls podcasts, and do enjoy them, but I really like the 2 person format and the chemistry of C and J the best.

I’m rereading Shadow of Night

Thanks to your podcast, I’m reading and listening to this book again. It’s been my least favorite book of the trilogy, but thanks to you both I’m enjoying it more. I appreciate your humor. And thanks for mentioning the Madeline Miller books!

Twin Pregnancy

Love your take on the books. I enjoy listening to people who may or may not have a different opinion than mine, as well as not agree with everything in the book. It makes for great listening and conversation. Speaking of disagreeing, I was listening to the podcast 56 and you were talking about being pregnant with twins and how it was implausible to be upright at 5-6 months pregnant with twins. I gave birth to twin and never once was on bed rest and was up and moving until the day they came at 37 weeks. Not all peeps who have multiples need to be in the bed. Again I enjoy your podcast. 😉
