The DNA of a Healthy Church | Acts 11-13 | John Percival

What does a healthy church look like? In this Oak Hill College Chapel message, we explore the “spiritual DNA” of the church at Antioch in Acts of the Apostles 11–13. Antioch was a diverse, strategic, international church — and a model of gospel health. From this passage we see that: Jesus plants his church Jesus grows his church Jesus uses his church Through ordinary believers, encouragement, faithful teaching, generous giving, and strategic sending, God builds and advances his kingdom. What would it look like for that same DNA to be visible in our churches today? 📖 Passage: Acts 11:19–26; 13:1–3 📍 Oak Hill College Chapel 🎙 Speaker: John Percival John Percival is Senior Pastor of Eden Baptist Church. What Does It Really Mean to Know God? | Jeremiah 9 | Chris Wright

In this sermon, Chris Wright @LanghamPartnershipUKI explores one of the most searching biblical questions: what does it really mean to know God? Drawing from Jeremiah 9:23–24, Wright challenges the common assumption that knowing God is primarily about knowledge, experience, or spiritual privilege. Instead, Scripture defines knowing God as sharing in what God Himself delights in — steadfast love, justice, and righteousness. Wisdom, strength, and wealth are all good gifts from God — yet Jeremiah warns against boasting in them. True boasting, Wright argues, belongs only in this: understanding and knowing the Lord, expressed in lives marked by mercy, justice, and integrity. This sermon is especially relevant for: Christian leaders and pastors Students of theology and ministry Anyone wrestling with the relationship between faith, justice, and discipleship 📖 Key Texts: Jeremiah 9:23–24; Jeremiah 22; Deuteronomy 8; James 1; Micah 6:8 🎤 Speaker: Chris Wright 🏛️ Affiliation: Langham Partnership “To know God is to delight in what delights Him.” 00:00 – Introduction: What Does It Mean to Know God? 01:45 – Jeremiah’s Vision of Knowing God 04:30 – Wisdom, Strength, and Wealth: Good Gifts, Dangerous Boasts 07:15 – When Strength Becomes Oppression 09:00 – What God Delights In: Love, Justice, Righteousness 11:45 – Knowing God and the Mission of the Church 14:30 – Trusting God for Wisdom, Strength, and Provision 15:50 – Final Challenge and Prayer
