    Owen Power Breakout Has Arrived

The Winnipeg Jets have no interest in bringing Connor Hellebuyck back, but his suspension ends on Friday and forces the situation back into focus. With Winnipeg looking for a way out, the idea of a three‑team trade involving the Jets, Sabres, and New York Rangers becomes one of the more intriguing possibilities on the table. Meanwhile, former first overall picks Alexis Lafreniere (2020) and Owen Power (2021) are finally breaking out for their teams, giving both New York and Buffalo a boost as the season gets underway. Three weeks into the year, we’ll take a quick look at the standings, see where each team sits, and wrap things up with a few Instagram mailbag questions to close out the episode. 🔊 New episodes drop every Sunday & Thursday @ 7 PM EST 🔥 🎧 Stay locked in for the hottest takes, bold predictions, and real talk from around the NHL. 🔥 Follow Us on Social Media: ▶ TikTok | https://www.tiktok.com/@checkfrombehindpod?lang=en ▶ Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/checkfrombehind/ ▶ X (Twitter) | https://x.com/CheckFromBehind ▶ Twitch | https://www.twitch.tv/checkingfrombehind 📧 Email | checkfrombehindzcp@gmail.com JOIN OUR DISCORD: https://discord.gg/UNwkgua9v5 🎙️ Presented by The Hockey Podcast Network 💰 Sponsored by DraftKings Sportsbook – The official sports betting partner of THPN: Spend just $5 you get $200 in bonus bets SIGN UP HERE: https://tinyurl.com/DKSIGNUP25 (00:00) Welcome to CFB Pod (01:11) Hellebuyck News (08:07) Laf Breakout (12:02) Power Breakout (24:41) Standings Check In (35:04) Mailbag (42:16) Outro   Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Igor Shesterkin Is OUT For the Season... What's Next For the Rangers?

The Nashville Predators have acquired Jayden Struble from the Montreal Canadiens, but the bigger news around the league is the wave of injuries to key players. Igor Shesterkin is officially out for the remainder of the season with a lower‑body injury, a massive blow to the New York Rangers’ hopes of staying near the top of the Metro. The Ottawa Senators were hit as well, losing William Eklund for an extended period after he suffered an ankle injury on Friday night. Meanwhile, the Winnipeg Jets continue to surprise. They’re off to a strong start despite Connor Hellebuyck’s absence, which raises the question of whether the pressure is now shifting entirely onto him once he returns. On the other side of the spectrum, Evan Bouchard is on an unreal tear with 11 points in his first four games, and at this pace, the idea of him pushing toward the 100‑point mark isn’t far‑fetched. 🔊 New episodes drop every Sunday & Thursday @ 7 PM EST 🔥 🎧 Stay locked in for the hottest takes, bold predictions, and real talk from around the NHL. 🔥 Follow Us on Social Media: ▶ TikTok | https://www.tiktok.com/@checkfrombehindpod?lang=en ▶ Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/checkfrombehind/ ▶ X (Twitter) | https://x.com/CheckFromBehind ▶ Twitch | https://www.twitch.tv/checkingfrombehind 📧 Email | checkfrombehindzcp@gmail.com JOIN OUR DISCORD: https://discord.gg/UNwkgua9v5 🎙️ Presented by The Hockey Podcast Network 💰 Sponsored by DraftKings Sportsbook – The official sports betting partner of THPN: Spend just $5 you get $200 in bonus bets SIGN UP HERE: https://tinyurl.com/DKSIGNUP25\ (00:00) Introduction (01:39) Struble Traded (06:01) Shesterkin Out For Season (14:48) Eklund to Miss Time (21:18) Jets Good Start (39:39) Bouchard Insane Start (57:09) Outro Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Overreacting to the Start of the 2026-27 NHL Season

We break down a busy week in the NHL, starting with new contract extensions for William Karlsson (Golden Knights), Louis Crevier (Sabres), and Tristan Luneau (Ducks). We also cover the Blue Jackets–Maple Leafs trade involving Kirill Marchenko and Matthew Knies, plus the uncertain futures of Connor Hellebuyck and Nikita Nikishin with their respective teams. The NHL Commissioner weighs in on trade requests and no‑movement clauses, adding fuel to the league‑wide conversation. From there, we dive into early overreactions to the start of the 2026–27 season — Edmonton’s goaltending struggles, Buffalo’s defensive issues, Aleksander Barkov’s injury, and Igor Shesterkin scoring a goalie goal.
