    CCM 13: Word of God, Bread of Life, the Commandments of God & Exodus 20:1-17

    In this meditation we continue walking through the books of the Bible and contemplating particular sections. Today we contemplate how the Word of God is food for our souls and then we focus our attention on Exodus 20:1-17. In a book called “The Desire of Ages” Ellen G White writes, “ As our physical life is sustained by food, so our spiritual life is sustained by the word of God. And every soul is to receive life from God's word for himself. As we must eat for ourselves in order to receive nourishment, so we must receive the word for ourselves. We are not to obtain it merely through the medium of another's mind. We should carefully study the Bible, asking God for the aid of the Holy Spirit, that we may understand His word. We should take one verse, and concentrate the mind on the task of ascertaining the thought which God has put in that verse for us.     In this meditation we spend time considering the way God uses spoken Word to communicate, and also do some guided breath work. This Is also the first of a series in which we will be meditating on a single verse at a time. We will start, today, in the book of Genesis, and every new episode will be one verse from various books of the Bible.   While this is the 12th episode, it is the beginning of a new "season", and we will be reading and ruminating on Genesis 2:7.
