Christmas Countdown

As the Christmas 2025 season comes to an end and the post-Christmas blues start to creep in, I always look for something to help bridge the gap until life feels normal again. This year was especially hard. It was my daughter’s first real Christmas—presents, family, food, the whole experience. What made it difficult was that her Aunt Beth wasn’t there to celebrate. I lost my sister five years ago due to COVID. Even though they never got to meet, my sister gave my daughter her blue eyes (both of her parents have brown—and she’s an IVF baby, so no funny business). Every time I look into my daughter’s eyes, I think of my sister. If she were here and knew she had a niece, she would have spoiled her the way only an aunt can. Like most Christmas lovers, many of the podcasts I listen to were wrapping up for the season Christmas Past, Christmas Morning, all finished with their daily episodes. While listening to the final episode of Christmas Past, I scrolled down and saw your show recommended. I gave it a listen and immediately knew, these clowns are my people. I’m now part of the Patreon group and have been listening through Season 1. It’s brought me a lot of joy especially knowing that with Bears and Packers fans involved, my time will come. GO LIONS. Eric and Danny, once again you have out done yourselves with the 2025 podcast. I just listened to the top 10 Christmas commercials episode and I had to pull my car over several times to watch and cry over each commercial. With streaming services I rarely see commercials anymore outside of Super Bowl Sunday so thank you so much for introducing me to these little nuggets of Christmas magic. We are in the middle of our oldest child’s high school senior year so my husband and I are really feeling the sense of an “end of an era” in our family of 5. I find myself tearing up on the regular just thinking about how our life as we know it is about to change, so thank you for being there to put in words, and commercials everything that is and has been on my heart this year. You guys are truly giving a wonderful gift to the world through your podcast. Keep it up. PS. I am really loving the Tinsle Tunes. Not many things more merry than discovering new Christmas songs, and bonus if my husband likes them aka “Christmas time” by the Darkness . 🎄😆❤️

This show is so much more than just a podcast. Yes, it will get you into the Christmas Spirit, yes you will laugh at the differences in pronunciation between Erik’s ungyun and Point-set-a, and Danny’s onion and Point-set-e-ugh, but it’s so much more. These Magical Merry Makers deliver as much cheer as the big man himself. This podcast has touched my life in so many ways. They’ve helped me through tough times, they’ve helped me be more secure in who I am as a person and a father. These two show humanity, humility, and sensitivity in a world desperately needing these features. I look forward to this show so much that I’ve begun only listening to this show while exercising. On days when it’s hard to wake up and get a workout in before the sun’s up, I often roll over, hearing my alarm, and remember…if I don’t get my butt in gear, I don’t get to hear the latest countdown or Christmas news. It’s positively impacted both my physical and mental health and I cannot thank them enough. I hope they both realize how much good they’re putting into the world.

I thought last year’s season was bad. This year you guys are really reaching for content . Just stick with the merry minutes and the games .
