Joe is a freelance sports writer & history teacher at Clayton Valley Charter High School who used to cover the Oakland Athletics as his primary beat for the Bay Area News Group & NBC Sports California. The Antioch native shares how reading the newspaper gauged his interest in sports writing plus how his dad's advice changed his life. He also shares covering every sport under the sun from NASCAR to golf. Joe and Derrick share their favorite memories of the Oakland Alameda- County Coliseum plus Joe's favorite A's games he got to cover. He also shares how Mark Purdy got him into teaching at San Jose State. Derrick shares his experience having Joe as an adviser when he wrote for Access Magazine. Joe shares how he got his foot in the door to become a History/Journalism teacher at Clayton Valley High School in Concord.
