This is Harish, a petroleum engineer, with a deep interest in medicine and fitness, and Akash Muralidharan, an Architect & Food Designer whose interest lies in bringing awareness to people that food is much bigger than what is on their plate. We both are based out of Chennai, India. We believe this podcast shall serve as a platform to discuss everything that interests us in the world of food, culinary art, medicine and fitness.     Today's episode is on a special Ingredient that was shoved down our throats whenever we had cold, cough or fever in the form of a kashayam, which is basically a medicinal decoction sort of, growing up. We were forced to gulp it down everytime we got a stomach ache, cough, indigestion, fever etc. The initial discomfort of drinking kashayam was almost always followed by a huge relief.Sitharathai or Galangal is a medicinal herb that is used in Asian Kitchens. It is also used for its plethora of medicinal values.
