D23 Hype Meets Loki Season Two Payoff

Send us an email Welcome to episode 115 of Chummy Thumbs! Comic-accurate Wolverine at four feet tall? That dumb little question turns out to be a perfect way to talk about what we actually want from adaptations: exact details from the page, or the feeling a character gives you when they walk into a scene.  From there we jump into a packed D23 roundup, sorting real signal from pure hype across Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and Disney Animation, including what has us excited for what’s next on the release calendar. Then we slow down for something that actually matters: the Jim Cummings snub. We talk about why voice actors so often get ignored even when they’ve built the emotional backbone of Disney for decades, and why fans are right to call it out. If you grew up with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Darkwing Duck, or a dozen other characters you didn’t even realize shared the same performer, this part hits home. Finally, we go deep on Loki Season 2, especially the second half and that finale that dares to make time travel feel like character work instead of a cheat code. We dig into the fear that time-slipping becomes a reset button, the paradox loops, the reveal that the Temporal Loom is a failsafe, and the moment Loki completes the biggest arc of his MCU life by becoming the guardian of infinite timelines. We also get into the Yggdrasil Tree of Life imagery, the ethics of pruning, and the uncomfortable question at the center of the multiverse saga: is one sacred timeline “safer,” or just control dressed up as order? If you’re into the MCU, Loki, the TVA, and where Avengers Doomsday could be heading, you’ll get a lot out of this one. If Only Miss Minutes Had a Body - Loki s2 ep 1-3

Send us an email Welcome to episode 114 of Chummy Thumbs! With San Diego Comic Con having finished a few weeks back, alongside Disney's D23 over the weekend, we thought what better time to start gearing up for one of the most anticipated MCU films (Avengers: Doomsday) then by going back in time to LOKI. We start season two with the first three episodes. *Spoiler discussion* Discussion begins at 8min 30sec - Having been away from the Marvel game, Loki S2 felt like a logical point for us to dip back in, as it's the building block for the multiverse phase MCU has moved toward. - Can't remember S1? They kindly give us a lengthy recap. - Time jumping, plenty of it, can we follow along? Yes. - Clever storytelling with time travel? Also, yes. - Sacred timelines and multiverse timelines, plenty. - We talk Marvel team-ups we'd like to see.  Daredevil - Punisher - Deadpool - Spider-Man - Wolverine - Falcon  -Winter Soldier. - How do you eat your corn? Let us know by email, and we'll feature your answers on future episodes!  This and so much more is discussed in this episode. So sit back and enjoy the discussion. Hooligan, Ultras, Fan, Criminal or Victim - 'The Hooligan' series recap

Send us an email Welcome to episode 111 of Chummy Thumbs! We get into the series 'The Hooligan', a 5-episode Polish Netflix series. - We start with some catch-up talk as we've been gone for an extra week due to Hayden having to take some time off. - Skip to 15:15 for the show review The World Cup is done and dusted now (Congratulations Spain), so why not stay along the lines of the game. The Hooligan is based around the fanatical nature of football/soccer supporting groups and the criminal nature they may dabble in. - Did we all manage to get through the series? Yes! - How was the sport portrayed? How was the fanatical support portrayed?   - Could the series have gone for three more episodes to make it a full 8 series? Probably would have helped it. - There are good points and there are bad points.  - If you want a look into a different world of sports supporting, this might give you a glimpse. - If you like gritty crime shows, this might also have something for you. - Final thumb scores from all of us (should we keep this scale or go more traditional?) This and so much more is discussed in this episode. So sit back and enjoy the discussion.
