    David Cronenberg Appreciation Month - "Rabid"

    An all new Appreciation Month is upon us here at Cinema Degeneration and this time we are delving into the twisted works and mind of the one and only Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg whose career started in the late 1960's! It's a month long (maybe longer) celebration of all things body horror, strange killers, telekinesis, rampant diseases, sexual perversions, more body horror, technological mutations, oh and did we mention body horror??? Our 5th and final episode is based upon one of his earlier efforts with the 1977 body horror classick "RABID".  Starring Marilyn Chambers and Frank Moore.  It's a spine tingling, flesh crawling, teeth chattering story of a motorcyle crash/burn victim that develops a taste for human blood after experimental plastic surgery and the aftermath of her victims that turn into kill crazy zombies.  Containing scenes of violence and depravity that have to be seen to be believed.  If that doesn't sound intriguing to you, then you've got to check your pulse because you may already be dead. Our deep dive discussion and dissection on this film is headed off by author Cameron Scott and director Marcus Koch. Buckle in because it's going to be a wild ride!   "Rita, he's gone crazy!     An all new Appreciation Month is upon us here at Cinema Degeneration and this time we are delving into the twisted works and mind of the one and only Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg whose career started in the late 1960's! It's a month long (maybe longer) celebration of all things body horror, strange killers, telekinesis, rampant diseases, sexual perversions, more body horror, technological mutations, oh and did we mention body horror??? Our 4th episode is based upon one of his more odd efforts with the 1996 quirky thriller "CRASH".  Starring James Spader, Holly Hunter, Elias Koteas, Deborah Kara Unger, and Rosanna Arquette.  A controversial movie based off of the J.G. Ballard novel of the same name about car crash victims that are suddenly "turned on" by car accidents that become involved in a cult-like subculture of likeminded lost souls. Containing scenes of violence and depravity that have to be seen to be believed.   If that doesn't sound intriguing to you, then you've got to check your pulse because you may already be dead.     An all new Appreciation Month is upon us here at Cinema Degeneration and this time we are delving into the twisted works and mind of the one and only Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg whose career started in the late 1960's! It's a month long celebration of all things body horror, strange killers, telekinesis, rampant diseases, sexual perversions, more body horror, technological mutations, oh and did we mention body horror??? Our 3rd episode is based upon his titanic effort with the 1981 classic "SCANNERS".  Starring Michael Ironside, Jennifer O'Neill, Patrick McGoohan, Lawrence Dane, and Stephen Lack.  A rmovie that generated two official and two unofficial sequels. It's a twisted tale of a small group of special people whose thoughts can kill with a telepathic ability called 'scanning' and their fight against those that would see them used as weapons.  Containing special effects not for the squeamish or faint of heart, we assure you.   If that doesn't sound intriguing to you, then you've got to check your pulse because you may already be dead. Our deep dive discussion and dissection on this film is headed off by Cameron Scott and Eric Phillips, the sometimes hosting duo of the show "Sequel Too, Deja Vu".     David Cronenberg Appreciation Month - "The Fly"

    An all new Appreciation Month is upon us here at Cinema Degeneration and this time we are delving into the twisted works and mind of the one and only Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg whose career started in the late 1960's! It's a month long celebration of all things body horror, strange killers, telekinesis, rampant diseases, sexual perversions, more body horror, technological mutations, oh and did we mention body horror??? Our 2nd episode is based upon Cronenberg's only filmed remake to date with the 1986 body horror classic "THE FLY".  Starring Jeff Goldblum,  Geena Davis and John Getz.  A remake of the 1958 black & white classis starring Vincent Price. It's a twisted tale of a scientist gone mad that results in a botched experiment that transmutes the man into a monstrous insect. Not for the squeamish or faint of heart, we assure you. It begs the question of what happens when a man tries to play God and what the consequences can be.  If that doesn't sound intriguing to you, then you've got to check your pulse because you may already be dead. Our deep dive discussion and dissection on this film is headed off by Cameron Scott and Tom Komisar, the hosting duo of "Grindhouse Pizzeria".     David Cronenberg Appreciation Month - "Crimes Of The Future (2022)"

    An all new Appreciation Month is upon us here at Cinema Degeneration and this time we are delving into the twisted works and mind of the one and only Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg whose career started  in the late 1960's! It's a month long celebration of all things body horror, strange killers, telekinesis, rampant diseases, sexual perversions, more body horror, technological mutations, oh and did we mention body horror??? Our 1st episode is on a very intense thriller and more recent directorial effort with the shocking 2022 release "CRIMES OF THE FUTURE".  Starring Viggo Mortensen, Lea Seydoux, and Kristen Stewart.  It's an odd tale of an alternative future where the human body has learned to adapt to an overly synthetic environment with new organ transformations and mutations.  Thus, turning these new mutations into avant-garde performance pieces to a public where 'surgery is the new sex.'  Not for the squeamish or faint of heart, we assure you. If that doesn't sound intriguing to you, then you've got to check your pulse because you may already be dead. Our deep dive discussion and dissection on this film is headed off by Patty and Cameron Scott, the married duo with a deep love of the mad and the macabre.     On our show, "Howling At The Full Moon" which celebrates anything related to Charles Bands Empire of Full Moon Pictures, we're going way back to the Paramount Pictures days in our 43rd episode with the sci-fi soft core romp that was the first from the sub-label Surrender Cinema "VIRTUAL ENCOUNTERS " from 1996.  Directed by Cybil Richards and starring Elizabeth Kaitan, Taylor St. Clair, Rob Lee, Jacqueline Lovell, and more.  This soft-core late night Skinnemax tale centers around Amy, a mild mannered woman who is gifted a Virtual Reality package labelled Virtual Encounters from her lover Michael to help with her sexual inhibitions.  Join our discussion headed off by our regular hosts Cameron Scott and Full Moon enthusiast Dustin Hubbard as they take a deep dive discussion on the story of Amy's road to sexual freedom via sci-fi virtual reality!     Sequel Too, Deja Vu - "Basket Case 3: The Progeny"

    On this show, our specialty is sequels, sequels, and more sequels.  From the good ones, to the bad ones, to the really ugly ones, we'll be covering them all!  We've got homicidal maniacs that won't stay in the grave, sci-fi epics whose stories cannot be told in a single tale, and much much more.  For our 29th episode, we'll be taking on the wacky and wild 3rd chapter in the Basket Case series with "BASKET CASE 3: THE PROOGENY" from 1992. This film is once again written and directed by genre great Frank Henenlotteer (Basket Case 1-3, Brain Damage, Frankenhooker) and stars Kevin VanHentenryck as Duane Bradley once more, and co-stars Annie Ross as Granny Ruth. This sequel finds our Bradley twins, Duane and the monstrous Belial, picking up right where part two left off with the two of them not on the greatest of terms. This time however, Belial is about to be a daddy! And they're going to need a bigger basket. Get ready to join our hosts Cameron Scott and Dustin Hubbard (Howling At The Full Moon) as they dissect and take a deep dive into a world filled with Bradley twin shenanigans, a Casey (Beverly Bonner cameo), freakishly fantastic kills, Jolt Cola product placement, sing-a-longs, makeshift Transformer mech suits, and more!     On our show, "Howling At The Full Moon" which celebrates anything related to Charles Bands Empire of Full Moon Pictures, we're going way back to the Empire Pictures days in our 42nd episode with the sci-fi horror Western effort from the late Empire Pictures days "GHOST TOWN" from 1988.  Directed by Richard McCarthy and starring Frank Luz, Catherine Hickland, Jimmie F. Skaggs, Bruce Glover, Michael Alldredge, and more.  This is strange tale of cowboys vs ghosts when a runaway bride gets kidnapped by the undead and only our intrepid deputy can bring her back from the ghost town alive!  Join our discussion headed off by our regular hosts Cameron Scott and Full Moon enthusiast Dustin Hubbard as they take a deep dive discussion on the fable of Devilish Devlin vs crack-shot Deputy Langley at high noon in paranormal town! Join us!   "I will walk these streets for a thousand years!"
