The Big Reveal

🚧 Great job dissecting TBC.
I gained much in-plain-sight-insight,
that I previously missed.
-
(3) issues got stuck in my net.

”Mayonnaise man” is written to be the mirror image of Sam (JT Lancer).

“Mayo” has a regular job, trying to make his marriage work + devoted to his kids.

“Sam” is successful, rich & famous. He also just had a messy divorce and is alienated from his daughter.

Karen in the end decides it’s not worth blowing up her family to reset her life. And would she even come out ahead if she did?

Since when in this country do we brand the hard working every man, boring & a loser? And the celebrity with the train wreck personal life the hero?

Secondly, why so much hate for the Michael character (Goldblum)? So he’s a bit of a cad. Every person/group has their imperfections. Michael may have the least integrity, but he also has the most self awareness of the group. He’s the funniest, quirkiest and self centric of his peers.
Remove him, and your ensemble losses a lot of personality.

Finally, your group appeared not to know what to make of the Chloe (Tilly) character. To be fair, the characters in the film didn’t get her either. That’s the point. She’s from a different generation. A sign of our maturing is when we lose touch with the generations behind us. She’s there to establish contrast, and as a pseudo bridge back to Alex.

I could got on, but you have probably stopped reading already.

Until we pod again…

Simply Wonderful

The most open, honest, welcoming, tolerant, progressive, diverse and positive film podcast I have come across. All three hosts welcome differences of opinion with open arms and an inherent desire to understand the other persons point of view. If you like podcasts that create argument for the sake of it, look elsewhere. If you want empathetic, funny and interesting conversations about films and why they will always connect with us, just hit that subscribe button and enjoy.

I love Cinenauts!

This show is delightful and flows. That is all due to the genuine friendship of the three hosts. The way they respond to each other’s comments always makes me laugh. Cinenauts is also a great motivator for me to work my way through watching the Criterion collection. It is very rare to find a podcast that has true friendship at its core, and Cinenauts is one of those majestic mythical shows that delivers on that. If you love smiling, friendship, and an impressive collection of movies, this is the podcast for you.
