What is the Current State of Downtowns?

How are downtown districts doing in the post-pandemic environment and with the recently embraced "work from home" office model? In this City Builders episode, Mark and Dorian discuss recent circumstances that are transforming cities all over North America.   In some cases changes have been negative, however, some changes have been considered to be positive.  What is the new paradigm?  For office users, for retailers, for residential users and for public spaces?  And what about mobility.....walkability, biking, transit? Enjoy a downtown focused discussion as Mark and Dorian talk about the current and future state of urban districts. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ NOTE: All photos and videos shown in this episode were taken by Mark Nickita, FAIA and Dorian Moore, FAIA except as noted.  Please join the City Builders, LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to the channel and SHARE this episode with others! @CityBuildersLog  _________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Builders hosts: Mark Nickita, FAIA  President of Archive DS, Detroit + Toronto.   Architects, Urban Designers, City Builders Dorian Moore, FAIA Vice President of Archive DS, Detroit + Toronto.    Architects, Urban Designers, City Builders Mark Nickita, FAIA and Dorian Moore, FAIA lead Archive DS, a distinctly unique urban design, architectural, planning and development consulting practice. Which are the Top NHL and NBA Arenas?

The City Builders discuss the best NHL and NBA arenas throughout North America.   Arenas, in our cities, are an important part of city life. Millions of fans, gather often in arenas to see sports activities, concerts, and other large events.  The discussion in this episode of City Builders is focused on how those arenas are designed and located to accentuate the fan experience as well as become assets in the cities where they are located. And as we come to a point in the year, where the Stanley Cup finals are wrapping up for the National Hockey League (NHL) at the same time as the National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals are completed, Mark and Dorian thought that it would be a good time to have the discussion about the best arenas that accommodate either the NHL, the NBA, or both. Enjoy this episode as Mark and Dorian have an in-depth discussion about the best arenas in North America that accommodate professional hockey and basketball, create a great opportunity for the fans that go to these venues and also are excellent elements of their urban environment. _______________________________________________________________ NOTE: All photos and videos shown in this episode were taken by Mark Nickita, FAIA and Dorian Moore, FAIA except as noted.  Aerial images and some images from Google Earth/Google Please join the City Builders, LIKE and SUBSCRIBE to the channel and SHARE this episode with others! @CityBuildersLog  ________________________________________________________________ City Builders hosts: Mark Nickita, FAIA  President of Archive DS, Detroit + Toronto.   Architects, Urban Designers, City Builders Dorian Moore, FAIA Vice President of Archive DS, Detroit + Toronto.    Architects, Urban Designers, City Builders Mark Nickita, FAIA and Dorian Moore, FAIA lead Archive DS, a distinctly unique urban design, architectural, planning and development consulting practice.
