31 May 2026: Beyond the Comfort Zone (Going Public)

"Our country is more divided than ever." It's a phrase we hear constantly — and there's real truth to it. But the "us vs. them" mentality isn't new. Throughout history, people have naturally gravitated toward those who look, speak, and think like them. That instinct isn't always sinful — but it becomes sin when it leads us to exclude, mistreat, or look down on others made in the very image of God. In this week's message, Pastor Mark Seager takes us into Acts 10, where the early church faced the same fractures — prejudice, ethnic tension, walls between insiders and outsiders. And God didn't work around those divides politely. He broke through them supernaturally, shaping the Church into the truly multicultural community he always intended it to be. Along the way, Pastor Mark takes an honest look at the cultural debate around DEI — and offers a reframe. Rather than getting drawn into the political crossfire, he suggests Christians see it differently: the hunger for diversity, equality, and inclusion reveals a deep human yearning that man-made programs simply can't satisfy. Hearts don't change through social engineering. They change through the gospel. Grounded in Galatians 3:28 — "neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus" — this is a call to let our primary identity be the gospel, not our tribe. A timely, challenging, and hopeful word for a divided world. 17 May 2026: Thankfulness

This week at CityView Church, we celebrated four years in our church building with a special service of thanksgiving, testimony, and celebration. Preaching from Psalm 105, Pastor Mark shared how gratitude shapes the life of a believer and the identity of a church family: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the peoples.” As CityView reflects on God’s faithfulness through challenges, growth, new ministries, and changed lives, this message is both a celebration of what God has done and a reminder that He is not finished yet. This sermon explores: Why thankfulness guards us from grumblingWhat it means to “call upon the name of the Lord”How gratitude naturally leads to evangelism and fellowshipWhy CityView exists to look out to the community and look up toward eternityHow God uses ordinary people as a “gospel outpost” in their cityWhether you’ve been part of CityView for years or are just discovering the church, this message is an invitation to remember God’s faithfulness and trust Him for what’s ahead. This recording includes Pastor Mark’s message, but does not include the individual testimonies shared during the service celebration. Some testimonies may be shared separately on social media in the future with permission from those who shared them.
