    Bob Dylan

The theme of this week’s show comes from what I’m calling my “Baby Boomer Spring Break” trip. Last week, I drove down to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and spent a couple of days at the Bob Dylan Center and the Woody Guthrie Center. They had so many great artifacts and little documentaries. It is truly amazing to see the breadth of work that man created, especially when you look at the ‘63 to ‘68 era. The rest of my time was spent driving parts of Route 66, hunting for roadside attractions, and listening to Jack Kerouac. (Jack Kerouac definitely stopped at Buc-ee’s, right?) Anyway, one of the things they brought up at the Bob Dylan Center was just how many people covered Dylan’s songs, especially in those early days. It almost reached a point where he was getting upset that other people were having hits with his songs and he wasn’t. (The Byrds had most of their hits with Dylan songs) So, that brings us to this week’s theme: the entire show is going to be dedicated to Bob Dylan covers.HERE’S WHAT WE PLAYED Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright Waylon Jennings Rainy Day Women #12 & #35 Flatt & Scruggs Wanted Man George Thorogood & The Destroyers You Ain’t Going Nowhere Nitty Gritty Dirt Band If Not For You Glen Campbell Tangled up in Blue The Charlie Daniels Band When I Paint My Masterpiece Emmylou Harris Walkin’ Down The Line Ricky Nelson Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You Tina Turner The Man in Me Lonnie Mack Maggie’s Farm Lester Flatt It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue The Country Gentlemen She Belongs To Me Ricky Nelson and The Stone Canyon Band One Too Many Mornings The Highwaymen It Ain’t Me Babe Johnny Cash REMINDER that next week is Vinylthon at WVMO and Classic Country Corner moves two hours ahead to 6am- 8am.
