Clutter Bravado Ep 57: The Importance of Permanence with Mauricio Oberfeld of Dugally Oberfeld

Luxury today is defined by intention, not excess. This week, Laurent and Elyse sit down with Mauricio Oberfeld, luxury builder and real estate developer of Dugally Oberfeld, to explore how truly iconic homes are created through a balance of architectural vision, global craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of the client’s lifestyle. As builders who serve as the glue between architect, designer, and homeowner, we discuss what it takes to orchestrate every detail—translating aspiration into architecture and redefining what modern opulence means. Featured in Architectural Digest, Dwell Magazine, Interiors Magazine, Luxe, and more, Dugally Oberfeld is a name shared among the most prominent in luxury homes and architecture. In a world of fast fashion, fast food, and fast furniture, Mauricio Oberfeld has constructed homes that are meant to last, valuing the true importance of building for a future of great architecture that is meant to withstand the test of time through quality materials, intentional engineering, and timeless aesthetics. While Los Angeles is known as an ever-growing and ever-changing landscape of design and architecture, Mauricio believes that it is the responsibility of great builders to create historical buildings in the present to give future generations a framework for true luxury and opulence that lasts. Clutter Bravado Ep 55: Laid Back, Livable Luxury with Architect Christopher Courts

One year after hosting his wife, Interior Designer Edel Legaspi, Laurent and Elyse sit down with Christopher Courts of Christopher Courts Architecture to talk trends, historical influence, and the importance of legacy in your craft. Piqued by his father's draft drawings as a child, Chris found his path into architecture early. LA-born and raised, he found new builds and historical LA architecture to be a seemingly endless source of inspiration, taking pride in his work to such an extent that he created healthy competition within each job, asking himself "how can I do that better?" In the case of our previous guest Kevin Kolanowski's home, "better" meant creating a second story that blended with the stylistic integrity of the existing Silverlake property, while elevating the space to accommodate the tastes of the designer couple. Teaming up with his wife to create Legaspi Courts Design, Chris and Edel used their differences in taste and aesthetic to create layered, dimensional spaces, rarely settling in immediate agreement, but challenging their ideas to create the best possible outcome. With two parents in the home design field, will their daughter follow in her parents' footsteps like Chris did so long ago? Time will tell... Clutter Bravado Ep 54: How to Produce Your Passion with Sam Dever

This week, Elyse and Laurent sit down with Sam Dever: Actor, Producer, Community Builder, Keynote Speaker, Host of The Social Media Podcast, Sam Dever Podcast, and Produce Your Passion Podcast, but most importantly a dear friend of the Clutter Bravado team. The Sam Dever Podcast is a long form conversation featuring guests from a variety of backgrounds who live and think "outside the box," with the intention to help inspire, educate and motivate others on their personal and professional journeys. While the landscape of the podcast industry is a bit of the "Wild Wild West" these days, with so many popping up and only a few sticking around for the long-haul, Sam has figured out how to stay curious, stay creative, and continue to share stories for the purpose of building something greater. Specifically, to give other creators proof that it can be done! Sam Dever's recent launch "Produce Your Passion" sharpens that vision even further, highlighting creators who aren't waiting for their big break, but facing their obstacles head-on to bring their dream to life. Whether it's crowdfunding a film, producing music, or starting the business they've always dreamed of creating, Produce Your Passion has a clear message: "At its core, Produce Your Passion exists to ignite action. It’s for those who feel a burning passion deep within but haven’t yet taken the leap—and for those already on the path, who need continued motivation and community to keep going."This episode was filmed on-location at the Kimberly Denman Showroom in Koreatown, Los Angeles, CADirected by Elyse CizekEdited by Elyse CizekTheme Song: The Poker Player by Anthony VegaWhere to Find Us:Instagram.com/clutterbravadoclutterbravado.comFind More about Sam Dever!samdever.comhttps://www.samdever.com/podcasthttps://www.thesamdeverpodcast.com/https://www.instagram.com/thesamdeverpodcast/https://www.produceyourpassion.com/https://www.produceyourpassion.com/podcast

Clutter Bravado Ep 53: Building a Design Empire with Integrity feat. Eric Chang

Eric Chang, co-founder of Hellman Chang Furniture, began dreaming of designing furniture at a very young age, so when he hit his big break at 23 and found his early work in-demand by set designers for Sex and the City, Gossip Girl, and by hoteliers and celebrities alike, Chang knew his path toward success was paved. But how could he ensure that path was one of integrity as a furniture designer in an age of rip-offs, corner cutting, and outsourcing?Eric Chang and Laurent Rebuffel discuss the ins and outs of manufacturing in the USA, and how creating hand-crafted furniture in America can change the landscape of both interior design, and expectations for consumers used to low-quality low-price furniture that isn't meant to last. Creating heirloom furnishings to-the-trade is an art, as Chang compares it to fashion, akin to Hermes or Prada, while RH and Crate and Barrel are Banana Republic. Manufacturing true high quality furniture made by hand by craftspeople whose happiness is a major priority is an unfortunately uncommon but highly respected and sought-after business model, and Eric Chang aims to continue to improve upon it week by week, order by order. Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, now settled just outside of Atlanta, GA, Eric Chang and Hellman Chang along with American Manufacturers like Kimberly Denman Inc, are creating a tariff-proof solution to sourcing quality furniture in the USA.
