This podcast series is an ongoing conversation with Mary, who calls herself a recovering hoarder. She is willing to share her up-til-now very private life in an effort to be helpful to others, may they be packrats, someone who loves a hoarder or those who just want to understand something that's mystifying to them. We go step by step through the muck, the stuck places, the victories. We don't know when and if she will recover from her "unusual relationship with stuff." Come along with me and cheer Mary on as she does the very hard work of healing. Will she ever let me into her home? Stay tuned.

1: Meet Mary, a Recovering Hoarder

1: Meet Mary, a Recovering Hoarder

This is my first conversation with Mary. Mary is slowly letting me into her life to share her story about her unusual relationship with stuff. She now calls herself a recovering hoarder, and she wants to help others by shining the light on this topic that is very difficult to discuss.

Maybe you, too, have an unusual relationship with stuff or know someone who does. You get to be a fly on the wall hearing what until now, she has kept very private.

Mary talks about her childhood, her pain of feeling misunderstood and the shame that brought. She clung to her stuffed toys because she didn't know how to voice her feelings and later turned to shopping to soothe her anxiety.

    3: Crossroads

Mary came to a crossroad in her adult life when she realized she was out of control. That was 10 years ago.

Thank you!

Thank you, Mary, for sharing so much of your personal story. You are a great storyteller and through your thoughts I have identified many things in myself. I have faced some monsters and become a better decision maker with your podcast. Thank you, ladies!

Need More Mary Time

Love this Podcast it is my all time favorite. The energy between Lori & Mary is captivating. I’ve tried to share and scream at the world to check this out. If you’ve ever had clutter you’ll find yourself right at home and understanding where Mary is coming from.

Well done!

I am only about 1/2 way through.. but love it! Finally, a real life example and honest approach to the clutter issue.. so many podcasts/videos/ books just talk about the pretty homes of those who organize for a career and how others can buy their EXPENSIVE services. But I’m always left wondering… how long did their spaces stay clear and organized? I’d much rather LEARN to tackle the issues for good.. listening to ppl who have been there. So 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 to you Mary! And Lori too.. I appreciate the time and effort you both put into this podcast. IMHO I think sharing how God helps you, is a positive thing. If someone doesn’t appreciate it. They can ignore it.. but I for one, would rather disappoint a fellow human, than to stand before God and explain why I allowed others to silence my faith.. It is obvious that God has used His divine intervention to perfect the timing on many meetings for Mary. I also want to applaud her hubby- I knew he was a keeper when he didn’t run after that first visit to Marys place. Another blessing! Thanks again for sharing the WHOLE honest story. I do believe God played a huge part in your journey &. success.. God Bless🙏🏻😇💙
