A podcast about divination, magic, and planning paths ahead in an inspirited world. Coffee and Divination started four summers ago, during North Wyldewood Coven's annual retreat. As we relaxed in the sunshine with our coffee and tea, we brought our cards and runes out to the table, and started reading for one another. We've kept up the tradition in person and online, and now we're inviting you to join us! Divination is the art of obtaining knowledge through hidden means, and has been a part of civilizations around the world - likely for tens of thousands of years. Divination can help us understand situations, answer questions and give us insight on the threads that weave our lives together. While our world undergoes this time of upheaval, studying and practicing the arts of divination can help us navigate and plan for the roads ahead.

Episode #21: Astrology for the First Half of 2022 with Brittany Goss

Episode #21: Astrology for the First Half of 2022 with Brittany Goss

A look ahead at the first half of 2022! As we close out the strangeness of 2021, it was wonderful to hear astrologer Brittany Goss' analysis of what's to come in 2022. As usual, I found the discussion with Brittany to be inspiring and heartening, while still being a no-nonsense discussion of some of the issues presenting themselves in the astro-weather to come.  I thoroughly enjoy these chats with Brittany, and hope you find this one as helpful as I did.

Episode #20: Divination, Art, and Magic with Lilith Dorsey

Episode #20: Divination, Art, and Magic with Lilith Dorsey

A great conversation with diviner and author Lilith Dorsey. Lilith is the author of numerous books, including "Orishas, Goddesses, and Voodoo Queens: The Divine Feminine in the African Religious Traditions" , "Voodoo and African Traditional Religion" , and "Water Magic: Elements of Witchcraft."  They have been a professional psychic and teacher for over three decades and are a frequent presenter at festivals and gatherings, including HexFest, WitchCon, Sirius Rising, Witch’sFest USA, and many others.
I had been looking forward to this conversation for a while, and am so glad that Lilith could join me for a wide-ranging discussion of Santería, art, witchcraft, and ways and means of divination. Enjoy!

Episode #19: Politics and the King in Orange with John Michael Greer

Episode #19: Politics and the King in Orange with John Michael Greer

On this episode of Coffee & Divination, we welcome back author and magician John Michael Greer. He's written numerous works on a variety of topics, including ecology, politics, appropriate technology, oil depletion, Druidry, divination, and magic. (He has written over 50 titles so far.) In this discussion, we delve into some of the magical underpinnings of politics today, as well as in the more distant past. His recent thought-provoking book, "The King in Orange: The Magical and Occult Roots of Political Power," was our jumping off point, and I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation.

Episode #18: Mysteries of Dionysus with Peter Mark Adams

Episode #18: Mysteries of Dionysus with Peter Mark Adams

On this episode of Coffee & Divination, we welcome back author Peter Mark Adams. Peter is the author of “The Game of Saturn: Decoding the Sola-Busca Tarocchi” and "Dancing out the Mysteries of Dionysus."  This was a fantastic discussion of the Dionysian themed frescos of Pompeii’s Villa of the Mysteries, which are not only incredibly beautiful works of art, they constitute the single most important theurgical narrative to have survived in the Western esoteric tradition. It was a great conversation that delved into some beautiful territory, and I hope you enjoy it!

PLEASE NOTE: In the video version of this episode, found on Vimeo and linked here in the show notes, I include images of some of the frescos as we discuss them, so I recommend watching the video version if you have the chance.

Coffee & Divination - Episode #17: Health, Magic, and the Cancer Grimoire with Ivy Bromius

On this episode of Coffee & Divination, we welcome author and magician Ivy Bromius, to talk about her most recent release, the Cancer Grimoire.  This work, offered for free on her website, was written after her recent experience with breast cancer. She is thankfully now cancer-free, and has written the Cancer Grimoire to hopefully help others who are going through health crises, as well as to open up important conversations around magic, wellness, and healthcare in our culture.

Please note that we discuss some intense subjects during this episode, and, as neither Ivy nor myself are doctors, our conversation does not constitute medical advice.
