    Responding to Jonathan Cahn: Blessing Israel, Prosperity Gospel, and Genesis 12. In this casual voice-recorded episode of Coffee with Hales, I respond off the cuff to a Jonathan Cahn sermon about Israel, replacement theology, and end-times claims. I critique what I see as a manipulative “prosperity Israel promise,” where financial support for Israel is presented as a way to receive financial blessing, and refusal is framed as bringing a curse. I question what Scripture he’s using and examine Genesis 12, arguing it’s God’s call and promise to Abram, not a command for the church to financially bless modern Israel.     Do Christians Have To Keep The Sabbath? Did The Law Had an Expiration Date?

    Old Testament Law, the New Covenant, and Why We’re Not Required to Keep the Sabbath In this episode of Coffee With Hales, I walk through what the Old Testament law (Torah) is, why the Sinai covenant was conditional for Israel, and why reading these laws requires audience relevancy and cultural context. I explain how the laws set Israel apart, often protected vulnerable people, and ultimately pointed forward to Jesus. Using passages from Matthew, Deuteronomy, Jeremiah, and Hebrews, I argue that Jesus fulfilled the law, making the old covenant obsolete, including the Sabbath as a requirement. I show how the New Testament summarizes God’s will as loving God and loving others, and how that shifts obedience from ritual to heart posture and action. She shows her DIY chicken tractor that gets moved daily to fertilize grass and help with bugs and ticks, explains heat lamp needs for younger birds, and shares how meat birds require frequent feeding, drink much more water, and will eat constantly, while laying hens are lower maintenance and can free range. Ashley covers feed choice, an 8-week grow-out timeline, how much feed they go through, and how they process birds at home with a basic setup.     What Manna Teaches Us When We’re Weary | Exodus 16

    Manna, Trials, and Resting in Faith (Exodus 16) | Coffee With Hales In this episode of Coffee With Hales, I walk through Exodus 16 and the story of manna—God “raining bread from heaven” after freeing Israel from slavery—showing how their daily gathering was a test of trust and dependence.     Question Israel… Get Labeled... The Growing Divide in Christianity.

    In this episode of Coffee with Hales, I continue my series on how institutional Christianity has been pulled into left-right political control, and I respond to a clip from Understanding the Times with Jan Markell about “Laodicean” churches and Israel. I argue they frame churches as apostate for not addressing October 7, equate non–pro-Israel positions with antisemitism or even Nazi Germany, and dismiss alternate eschatology (replacement/fulfillment theology) as coming from figures like Tucker Carlson or Candace Owens. I push back on the idea that Israel is the “true north” for determining someone’s theology or even whether they’re a real Christian, and I say believers should be allowed to ask questions.     How Politicians Are Using the Church to Keep You Divided

    Has Government Hijacked Evangelicalism? Politics, Propaganda, and the Church   In this Coffee with Hales commentary, I argue that large Protestant evangelical movements have been hijacked to keep Christians invested in a right-left political illusion and pressured to see voting—often for a specific party—as biblically mandated. I use Sheridan Church in Oklahoma and Pastor Jackson Lahmeyer’s “Pastors for Trump” involvement as an example, including his defense of the White House Office of Faith and Paula White, the church’s ties to Trump-world figures, and messaging around Islam, Sharia law, and persecution. I also critique how end-times Zionist/dispensational frameworks and accusations around replacement theology are being used to police who counts as a “real” Christian, contributing to people leaving evangelicalism.     You're Reading Scripture... So Where is the Fruit?

    In this episode of Coffee with Hales, I take a springtime spiritual inventory and share four points on growing in spiritual maturity: be intentional about time in Scripture, understand who Yahweh is, grow through applying God’s Word (not just learning it), and remember that growth produces visible fruit in its proper season. I walk through Psalm 1 and Psalm 119 to show how Scripture roots us like a tree by living water and lights our path in a dark world, connect Jesus’ “I Am” statements to Yahweh’s name in Exodus, and use Colossians to emphasize Christ’s deity and sustaining power.
