    The promise of a fluid career is not only that you get more choice over how you spend your time but you have more direct influence on how much  money you make.  But for creatives, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and multi-hyphenates, increasing your income is not as simple as asking for a raise or climbing the next rung on a career ladder. There are a dozen potential paths forward and not all of them are right for you. Many people assume the answer is to work harder, take on more clients, or squeeze more hours out of an already packed schedule.     Give your self and your story credit

    This is a short reminder to my people out there who have not had a linear career path. And the reminder is this: Being multifaceted doesn’t mean that you have to be incoherent.  Sometimes all you need to do is take a minute to step back and look for your bigger motivations, values, and role themes in order to realize that there has been an organizing structure, a method to your madness, despite the feeling of chaos or fragmentation that you might sometimes feel.  The act of intentionally forming a generous and coherent career story is one of the most impactful things you can do for your career right now. Because everyone and their mother seems to be expecting you to be “AI literate” by now.
