    Love, Loss & Starting Over

    Love, Loss & Starting Over

    TRIGGER WARNINGS: death, divorce

If you were anything like me, you grew up hearing about how idealistic ending up with your high school sweetheart was. That it was the ultimate goal. What I don’t remember recalling is anyone talking about what life was meant to be after the happily ever after. Ryanne joins me and talks about how real life events help you truly learn who you are and what you want out of life. Ryanne shares details of her experience with losing her father caused her to reevaluate what she wanted out of life.

Ryanne has over ten years of experience working alongside children, adults, and families to support their individual mental health needs. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher and pairs traditional therapy techniques with Integrative and Mindfulness-Based practices to ensure a collaborative approach. One of her greatest passions is helping children understand their emotions, feelings, and behaviors. As part of this, she welcomes the chance to walk alongside parents as they navigate their parenting journey. Her goal for her care is to provide a space that is welcoming and therapeutic for all clients and families.

I Thought It Was Normal, Until I Was Diagnosed with ADHD

I Thought It Was Normal, Until I Was Diagnosed with ADHD

Women are so adaptable. To our situations, to obstacles, to symptoms. When something needs to get done we make sure it happens. What happens when we can’t though? When all of a sudden, all of the things that worked in the past to keep you “high functioning” and holding it all together no longer work? You go looking for answers and solutions, which is exactly what led Gina to her ADHD diagnosis in her adult life. Hear her story of how she can see symptoms when looking back on her life and what it was that really pushed her to make changes.

Gina is a LMFT who believes that we must look further than the immediate problem, and consider the systems we are part of. In order to make long-lasting change, we will look at the whole person: mind, body, and relationships. In her work she enjoys working with adult clients who are dealing with communication, infidelity, and sexual concerns in their relationships, as well as co-parenting after a relationship ends. She is also trained in the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) and utilizes this trauma modality often. After-hours, you will find Gina cheering at her boys’ sporting events, listening to true crime podcasts, or binge-watching The Office (again).

Is My Experience Valid? Labeling Sexuality

Is My Experience Valid? Labeling Sexuality

    TRIGGER WARNINGS: Sexuality

We don’t expect straight people to come out as straight to society yet we expect anyone who doesn’t identify in that way to do so. Knowing that they would be the people that society is more likely to judge and shame for not being “like everyone else.” So many people don’t have to give a second thought to their sexuality that when someone does, the experience can be really unsettling. Especially if that experience doesn’t look how other people in similar situations have looked. Feeling different is one thing, feeling different amongst a group that is already looked at as different can be a whole different animal. Taylor bravely shares her experience of learning about her sexuality in this week's episode.

Taylor is recently married, living in the central MN area with her husband, 2 dogs and hamster. She’s been a full time nanny for about 4.5 years and coaches volleyball during the winter and spring seasons.
