If you'd like to support the podcast and all the work that I do then you can! Just head on over to patreon.com/comealongfortheridepodcast and sign up. From as little as a cup of coffee a month, you can help me keep this podcast going. There are many tiers that you can choose from and if everyone who listens gave only $5 per month, it would make a massive positive difference to me.

There is a tier in there for a small business subscription just like the one Peter Papp took up from Peter and the Herd, this is the one where your business gets a mention each week on the podcast. Peter works with equine behaviour and trauma recovery. Equine communication. Human and horse relationship building. Peter has had communication with my mare Gypsy, who is the mare with me in the podcast picture and he was spot on about everything so I can highly recommend his work personally. Click here to connect with Peter and the Herd.

One of our small business subscribers for the podcast is the HeartHorse Box. HeartHorse was created by friends Tista and Charlotte who found a beautiful spot to place themselves in the horse world. They have created a safe online community environment outside the noisy world of social media where you can subscribe and dive in and speak openly with heart-minded conscious horse people of all disciplines and breeds. This includes live seminars and classes from equine experts from all areas of the equestrian world. They also have the beautiful HeartHorse Box Subscription, I do love this one as it is centred around you, the conscious horse person receiving nourishing gifts for you as HeartHorse understand that you are already taking amazing care of your horse and want to make sure you are doing the same for yourself. I am thrilled to let you know that if you go to hearthorse.us and use the code EDENRIVER you will receive a 25% discount on your first month of the HeartHorse Community Membership. You may also like to check out their HeartHorse podcast it's another great free resource from the HeartHorse team.

In this episode of the podcast I speak with Elsa Sinclair who made the film Taming Wild and who does what she calls Freedom Based Training.

Elsa and I talk about the two documentaries she has made so far and also the one she is filming now that is taking way longer than expected, and for good reason.

The amazing thing about Elsa is that she is always listening, not only to the horses and her intuition but to people when they ask really interesting questions. She takes on challenges consistently and her results are beautiful to witness. Sometimes she has a time frame to work within and sometimes she just has to keep filming until she finds a natural ending to the story.

I love how Elsa thinks, how she trains and how she shows up for her horses and community.

There is something in this chat for everyone so I hope you enjoy this conversation.

We've made it to episode 100! Can you believe it! I decided to do something a little different this episode and play you and interview done with me by Tista and Charlotte from the Heart Horse Podcast. I really enjoyed my time chatting with these amazing women about the why behind this podcast and my business Eden River Equestrian. So for this one you can sit back and relax and get to know me a little better. I hope you enjoy it.

You may even find the episode where I was a guest on their podcast talking about my life with horses and how this podcast and the conscious horse movement came about.

In this episode I spoke with Mark Langley from Equine Ability. Mark is a man who grew up with horses and like so many from this podcast, started to question the training methods he had learned while travelling overseas. He saw a lot of push button horses that were shut down and he got curious as the driving pressure seemed to be shutting them down. And as happens so many times when you begin to question things, he was led to books written by Mark Rashid who gave him permission to take a different direction. He changed his main training method to "How can I help?" he realised that like Tom Dorrance said, a horse follows a feel not getting chased by it and his new way of training was born.

It's really interesting to hear that Mark began to see more shut down horses than ever when he started hosting clinics. We had a great conversation about shut down horses and he gives a lot of tips and examples and a lot of things to think about. And he made a great point, it's us that shuts down horses, not pressure.

I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did. Mark is...

In this episode I speak with Caroline Hegarty who created a community called Equitopia.

Caroline felt disempowered as a horse owner as the experts she has in farriers and trainers of her horses were telling her they knew best. Even when she was able to be brave and speak up they still shut her down. So being the amazing woman she is, Caroline decided to do something about it and created an online community where you as a horse owner can educate yourself, find support and also find great expert in their fields who are collaborative and open and always put the horse first.

I love what Caroline has created and she will continue to grow what she has done and is truly helping horses all over the world to have a better life by empowering the owners like you and me.

Equitopia has the course by Dr Sue Dyson as well, the Ridden Horse Ethogram that I spoke with Sue about a couple of episodes ago. So there is definitely great information and she has chosen her experts very well.

In this episode I speak with Dagmar from Animal Communication. Dagmar does animal communication as well as energy healing and body work. This is an area that has always fascinated me. While I can sense things from horses and I'm sure we can all understand what our horses are saying to us a lot of the time, this really is the next level of communication. Have a listen as to how much support you can give your horses and other animals if you learn this skill that Dagmar says anyone can learn. It's always been interesting to me to ask questions around somethings that are really energy work an unexplainable and see what the interpretations are. I really enjoyed this chat with a talented communicator and horse woman.

In this episode I speak with Belinda Bolsenbroek. Belinda has been on my radar for a few years as she coaches locally and I have seen the calibre of people who have worked with her and swear by her training and have always wanted to know more.

And let me tell you Belinda exceeded all of my high expectations of a wonderful interview. Belinda reminded me of so many things that I value about working with horses and these things can so easily be lost and forgotten in searching for the correct method or techniques.

Belinda believes that if you are focusing on technique or methods without having looked into the horse's eyes and connected with their soul, then your technique will not ever matter nor will it work to build true connection with your horse.

This was such an enlightening conversation and such a pleasure. This is one that I personally will be going back over a few times to remind myself of the essence of working with horses.

Exactly what the horse world needs

This is everything I have been looking for in a horse podcast— a platform for all types of horsemanship to be explored and introduced to the world, such a good resource to seek out other conscious horse people!

Chloe & Wonder ,

Hope for horses

I love when I find a good podcast on horse training and with a strong intention on bettering the lives of our domesticated horses. I enjoy hearing stories from others and their experiences with horses; even if they train differently or have had more experience, less experience, different experience, there’s always something to learn. I’d love to hear you interview/chat with TheWillingEquine (Adele Shaw) or JetEventing (Jill Treece) as both of them have been big inspiration for my shift in training!

Great pod

Great to have interviews from pressure free trainers & learn new perspectives on training / being with horses.
