    Indie Comic Book Review - Blowtorch Bad Roads

    Time for another #indiecomicreview! One of our fans/listeners/watchers was rather tenacious in getting us to review his new comic (Oct. '23) - Blowtorch Bad Roads from Page1 Comics! Thank you for being persistent! Blowtorch Bad Road's first issue is a great entry into a gritty, John Wick-esque type of comic! This black-and-white issue has some really great artistry and the b/w nature really fits with this story. The cover is truly well done and an eye-catcher! We won't give much away here -- just get your hands on it! Looking forward to the next issue!     Comic Creator Interview - Chiral Comics (Kang Jing & Api Ngo)

    We had the awesome opportunity to visit with and interview Chiral Comic's creator Kang Jing (KJ) and co-writer/editor Api Ngo  @ThatChineseHistoryGuy  (on YouTube) all the way from Singapore! Interviewing at the same time - but technically on different days - was similar to time-travel -- or something else conceptually trippy. We had a blast learning about wuxia (which literally means "martial arts and chivalry," is a genre of Chinese fiction concerning the adventures of martial artists in ancient China) and how this dynamic duo ended up working together! We hope you enjoy learning about this potentially different perspective/experience in the comic creator domain. And we HIGHLY recommend their comics! Zhao Vol. 1 was intriguing, has a story that grabs, and is visually bold and vivid! While their recent Kickstarter has already completed, they ask that you visit their website, check them out, and order a copy of this smart, large graphic novel! ➡️ https://chiralcomics.storenvy.com/ Kang Jing (KJ) - Creator/Writer/Artist/Letterer Api Ngo - Co-Writer/Editor Alan Bay - Colorist Kang Jing (KJ) is a Singaporean Graphic Novelist and the visionary behind Chiral Comics. KJ entered into the industry in 2019 with the release of his debut comic series, “The World My Arena”, which was successfully funded through Kickstarter. Garnering substantial attention, the martial arts series received coverage in local media outlets such as justsaying.ASIA and CNA Lifestyle, and adapted into animated videos (ComicVid by VividThree Productions). In 2022, KJ was invited as an ambassador artist for Singapore's inaugural Comic Embassy, an initiative co-organised by SG Cartoon Resource Hub and NAFA International. Later on, KJ had the privilege to adapt the autobiography of CPT Ho Weng Toh, Singapore's last World War II Flying Tiger, into a comic series published in the local newspaper. On the global stage, KJ’s works have been featured in internationally published comic anthologies, including the Covid Chronicles by Graphic Mundi, which was named by The Washington Post as one of the "Best Graphic Novels of 2021". He was also announced as the interior comic artist for Týr, internationally renowned Faroese folk metal band, to be published in 2024.     Comic Creator Interview - Laurie Calcaterra - Path of the Pale Rider

    We had the incredible opportunity to interview #indiecomic creator, Laurie Calcaterra, creator of Path of the Pale Rider, late last year and while this interview is a bit longer than most, it's well worth it! Path of the Pale Rider was truly delightful to get into and we cannot recommend this series enough! We were lucky enough to read issues 1-3, and this comic has extremely high potential for a BIG future in our humble opinion. This fresh take on the "zombie apocalypse" genre is an emotional and relateable ride! Not just a comic, POTPR has riddles, short films, and a choose-your-own-adventure book.     Indie Comic Book Review - Psycho List

    Psycho List is a great comic that expertly blends a very real-world issue (dv) with comic book style to take the reader on an intriguing journey. For several reasons, the Squares recommend this issue! This was a review of issue #1 and 6 are showing available on Global Comix from Blackbox Comics. Description: (W) Kevin Grevioux (A/CA) Jonathan Lau After a former FBI agent becomes a therapist, he has a hard time staying out of his patients' lives, taking on their problems as his own.     Indie Comic Book Review - Cold Sky

    In this episode, the Squares review Cold Sky from Black Relic Comics. This comic contains 3 separate stories that take place in the universe Black Relic Comics is creating.
