Customer Reviews
Dreamers: you are not alone
After making the hard choice to set aside my big novel in favor of another story, I realized the new story would be much better in a comic form. On a whim, I opened this podcast and braced myself for the onset of imposter syndrome: it never came. The host(s) are funny, friendly gentlemen, always sure to give their listeners an approachable set of information. Their guests are remarkable artists from all walks of life, from excellent comics such as the Avatar Korra series and the walking dead. Every episode focuses on that artist, which, as everybody is best at a different thing, happily establishes a multiverse of excellence for fans or casual listeners.
I read on another review that someone listened to this while penciling their first issue (congratulations!!!), and I totally empathize. When I’m listening to this show, I feel like the dream of selling my stories and art IS possible, so long as I’m ready to put in the work and improve. Simply searching some of the websites and things mentioned has been a fantastic help.
I am so glad and happy to listen or re-listen to these episodes. It makes me feel like I’m being cheered on by good friends.
Thank you so much for this podcast! I’ll keep listening, gratefully, to every episode you drop.
High-Octane Positivity
This is a great podcast for aspiring comic creators and storytellers. Besides being chock full of information about craft, industry, and the comics community, it is simply a pleasure to listen to the show. Jason and Kent’s positive attitudes are infectious, their conversations are authentic, and the interviews dive deep.
Glorious perfection
I have just found this podcast and listened to every single episode while penciling my first issue. This is such a great resource for people starting out in comics and also people just interested in nerding out over great creators. My great hope is that these folks continue to put out more shows to keep me company while I draw my book and eventually thank them in person.
