Guy’s Night // The Book Of Colossians May - Chapter 2

Guy’s Night – Colossians Chapter 2: Rooted in Christ, Free From Empty Religion This week at Guy’s Night, we continued through Epistle to the Colossians Chapter 2, and the conversation centered around one major truth: if Christ is enough, then we don’t need to look anywhere else for identity, freedom, or fullness. A huge part of the night focused on verses 4–7, where Paul warns believers not to be deceived by persuasive words, but instead to stay rooted and built up in Jesus. We talked about how easy it is to drift spiritually when our faith becomes shallow, emotional, or dependent on other people rather than deeply grounded in Christ. Real spiritual maturity comes from being rooted — not just inspired. We also spent time unpacking verses 8–12, discussing Paul’s warning against empty philosophy, worldly thinking, and religion that looks spiritual but lacks the power of Christ. The discussion challenged us to examine the voices shaping our lives and whether we are building our worldview more from culture or from Jesus Himself. One of the strongest moments of the night came from verse 15: “He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame…” We reflected on the victory of Jesus through the cross — how what looked like defeat was actually complete triumph. Sin, shame, death, and the powers of darkness were defeated through Christ, and because of Him we no longer have to live enslaved to fear, guilt, or striving. Throughout the night, the theme remained clear: Jesus is not an addition to life. He is life. Colossians 2 reminded us that we don’t need empty religion, self-made righteousness, or worldly wisdom to complete us. In Christ, we already have fullness, freedom, and victory.

Guy’s Night // The Book Of Colossians May - Chapter 1

This week, Guy’s Night began a brand new journey through the book of Epistle to the Colossians, and from the very first chapter, the focus was clear: Jesus is not just important — He is supreme over everything. As we walked through Chapter 1, we explored one of the most powerful portraits of Christ in all of Scripture. Paul reminds the church that Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the creator of all things, the one who holds all things together, and the head of the Church. In a world constantly searching for meaning, identity, and fulfillment, Colossians points us back to one central truth: Christ is enough. The discussion centered on how easy it is to build our lives around performance, approval, or religious activity while missing the fullness found in Jesus. We talked about the difference between knowing about Christ and truly surrendering to Him, and how the gospel doesn’t just improve people — it completely transforms them. We also reflected on the incredible reality that the same Jesus who created the universe willingly reconciled sinners to God through His death on the cross. The King over all creation became the Savior for broken humanity. This night challenged us with a simple but life-altering question: If Jesus truly is over everything… is He truly over every part of our lives? Colossians 1 doesn’t just introduce a letter. It introduces the greatness of Christ.

Guy’s Night // Worship & Writing Letters To The Navy

At this week’s Guys Night, we slowed things down and leaned into a night of worship, prayer, and brotherhood. Instead of a typical teaching, we created space to seek God together—lifting up our lives, our struggles, and each other in prayer. There’s something powerful about a room full of men choosing to be real before God and not just go through the motions. One of the most meaningful moments of the night was taking time to write letters to our brother who is currently serving in the Navy—encouraging him, praying over him, and reminding him that he’s not alone. This night was a reminder that following Jesus isn’t just about learning—it’s about living in community, carrying each other’s burdens, and showing up for one another. Real faith. Real brotherhood. Real presence.

Guy’s Night // Doors & Doorways | Pastor Luke Mace

At this week’s Guys Night, we were joined by Luke Mace, youth pastor from The Pulse Church in Winfield, who brought a powerful message titled “Doors & Doorways.” Luke walked us through the story of Cain and Abel, where God warns Cain that sin is crouching at the door and that he must learn to master it rather than be mastered by it. From there, we connected that moment in Genesis with Revelation 3:20–21, where Jesus says He stands at the door and knocks—inviting us to open the door of our lives so that we can walk in victory with Him. The conversation challenged us as men to think about what doors we allow sin to open in our lives and what it truly means to choose obedience, holiness, and leadership. We also had an honest discussion about the real evil present in our world, particularly the reality of the sex trafficking and slave trade, and the responsibility men have to stand up, live with courage, and protect the vulnerable. This was a night about choosing the right door, mastering sin instead of being mastered by it, and stepping into the kind of men God has called us to be.

At this month’s Guys Night, we were joined by author Justin Hart Crary for a powerful conversation about heaven, eternity, and the deeper questions many believers wrestle with but rarely talk about.
