Community² (Community Squared)

Eunbyul and Yiyan

We’re two journalists from Chinese and Korean communities in the U.S. We want to understand each other’s worlds and see if politicians say one thing to one community and another to a different one. We want to know why we often face subtle and sometimes fierce tensions with one another. Ultimately, we hope to explore the countless communities we don’t yet know by juxtaposing and interweaving them with an open mind. We want to trace the causes and effects, the “supply chain” from community to community, and uncover the human lives within: their hopes, conflicts, and transformations.

We want to know why we always face subtle or sometimes fierce tensions with one another. But ultimately, we want to know the thousands of hundreds of communities we don’t know-by juxtaposing and interweaving them with an open-minded eye. We want to know the cause and effect, and the “supply chain” from community to community, and finally, human lives within: their hopes, conflicts and transformations.
