This podcast gives a very negative take on Dashing and the gig economy in general. The host emphasizes the lack of “community” in being a Doordash driver, and brushes over the many positives, such as:
1. You need no experience and about 2 minutes of training.
2. You can choose when, where and how long you work.
3. You can choose what orders you want to take and can reject any order for any reason or no reason.
5. In my experience, the pickup and delivery times are very reasonable.
6. Once you learn your area and learn which orders are the best use of your time, you can make $20-$25 an hour in most medium to large cities.
If you want to join a community, Doordash is not the place to do it. But if you want a side hustle that you can do on your own timetable and don’t mind driving, Doordash is hard to beat.
