    Zacchaeus Climbs Higher

This is the first message in a series called Overheard. In this series, we’ll imagine what it might have been like to stand in the crowd and overhear Jesus as He spoke with the people He encountered along the way. In this first message, we listen in on Jesus’ encounter with Zacchaeus in Luke 19:1–10. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus badly enough to climb a tree and leave his dignity behind. But when Jesus stopped, called him by name, and entered his home, Zacchaeus discovered that an encounter with Christ does more than get our attention. It changes the way we live. We’ll look at the kind of faith Jesus seeks, the genuine change that follows repentance, and the ripple effect a transformed life can have on the people around us. Zacchaeus climbed higher just to see Jesus. He came down a different man. This is the first message in a new series called Overheard.
