Thank you for remembering Joseph Baker. I was his peers during the fall term at UTS. We were in the same class over the fall. The same compassionate and thoughtful person showed up each week in class.

love the podcast mostly, but just have to point out that three white dudes referring to Ronan Farrow as « the reporter who launched the Me Too movement » is a pretty wild retelling of history, not to mention a bold erasure of the two female reporters whose concurrent reporting can also be said to have « launched the Me Too movement, » not to mention Tarana Burke, the Black woman to whom the #MeToo hashtag is credited, or the thousands of women whose stories fueled the movement. i mean, wow. i really expected better from people whose insights i generally trust and respect.

I’ve been listening to this podcast since 2020.. the year (I believe) of its inception. What’s kept me listening to this podcast all these years is that these three men are covering what I know to be a necessary niche of information.. as a person who’s survived religious and spiritual abuse, as well as the influence of two parents who were heavily overtaken by fringe health disinformation. From my perspective, Conspirituality’s beat is necessary. I just wish it wasn’t so damn obsessed with listening to itself talk. These guys, unfortunately, continue to create a tone, vocabulary, and pseudo-academic perspective that is more interested in making them sound intelligent to themselves than it is in serving the people who actually need their subject matter. It’s as if they are constantly trying to impress an invisible professor (I’m not sure who, but probably somebody who gives them a gold star every time they use a 10 dollar word) rather than ask the question: “who are the people who actually need our work? How can we make ourselves accessible and understandable to them?” I think this podcast is good. But it won’t be great until they learn one of the first rules of marketing: it’s not about you. I am finally moved to write this critique after 6 years of listening to this podcast because I feel that this podcast needs to reach a wider audience now more than ever. It’s truly needed. I hope they figure it out.

I hope you will do a deep dive on Elizabeth April and other charismatic influencers who misuse "quantum physics" to lure in spiritualists with the language of science and promote conspiracy theories (including a resurgence of reptilian mythology)
