FAIRR Initiative is one of the world’s leading organizations that aims to address ESG issues in the food industry, with a particular focus on animal welfare and plant alternatives.     Elliot Teperman is an Outreach & Research Analyst for the Farm Animal Investment Risk & Return Initiative (FAIRR Initiative). The FAIRR Initiative is an investor network that aims to generate awareness of ESG risks and opportunities that were realized due to intensive livestock production. As an analyst for FAIRR, Elliot is responsible for onboarding investors, understanding their needs, and conducting FAIRR’s yearly surveys. Elliot Teperman joins me today to discuss the progress towards animal welfare in the food industry over the last ten years. He shares the move from caged-hens to cage-free farming and how it impacted various producers. He describes the impending risk of antimicrobial resistance in the future and how we can avoid it.
