The Healing Power of Words: Poetry, Purpose & Social Justice with Lyrical Faith

What happens when we turn our pain, purpose, identity, and lived experiences into art? On this episode of Conversations with Coach LA, Coach LA sits down on the virtual couch with Lyrical Faith—an international award-winning spoken word poet, cultural curator, recording artist, educator, and social justice scholar—for a powerful conversation about poetry, healing, identity, resilience, and finding the courage to use your voice. From performing on stages around the world to using spoken word as a vehicle for storytelling and social change, Lyrical Faith shares how creativity can help us process what we’ve experienced, reclaim our narratives, and transform both ourselves and the communities around us. Coach LA and Lyrical Faith explore the intersection of mental health and creative expression, what it means to create from an authentic place, the responsibility that can come with being a cultural storyteller, and how our words can become tools for liberation and healing. Because sometimes the words we struggle to say are exactly the words somebody else needs to hear. In This Episode 🎙️ The connection between poetry, mental health, and emotional healing 🎙️ How creative expression can help us process difficult experiences 🎙️ Finding—and trusting—your authentic voice 🎙️ Identity, culture, representation, and social justice 🎙️ Turning lived experiences into meaningful art 🎙️ Resilience, purpose, and personal transformation 🎙️ What it means to BET on SELF™ as an artist and human being BET on SELF™ Reflection Your voice does not have to sound like anyone else's to be powerful. Finding Your Voice While Healing: A Conversation with Nay Speaks

"Your voice has the power to heal—not because it's perfect, but because it's honest." -Coach LA This season closes with a conversation about identity, purpose, emotional resilience, creativity, and the courage to use your voice to heal yourself and your community. Nay Speaks' music blends hip-hop, poetry, and storytelling with messages of self-awareness, healing, and authenticity. Her work explores growing up in Boston, navigating young adulthood, mental wellness, and finding balance through creativity.   Description Season 9 comes to a powerful close with one of Boston's most inspiring artists and community voices, Nay Speaks. Known for blending music, storytelling, and healing, Nay joins Coach LA for an authentic conversation about purpose, identity, mental health, creativity, and what it truly means to use your voice as a tool for transformation. Together, they explore the emotional realities behind success, navigating self-doubt, protecting your peace, and embracing vulnerability while remaining committed to your purpose. This episode reminds us that healing isn't about becoming someone new—it's about reconnecting with who you've always been. Whether you're an artist, entrepreneur, student, professional, or someone learning to believe in yourself again, this conversation will encourage you to embrace your story and BET on SELF™. In This Episode We Discuss: Finding your authentic voice Healing through storytelling and creativity Mental health in the Black community Identity and self-discovery Navigating anxiety and self-doubt Protecting your peace while pursuing your purpose Community healing and collective resilience The power of vulnerability Building confidence through self-awareness Why your story matters Coach LA's BET on SELF™ Reflection Healing doesn't erase your story—it helps you reclaim it. Sometimes the greatest act of courage isn't speaking to thousands; it's finally telling yourself the truth. Every experience, every setback, every victory has prepared you for this moment. Your voice has value. Your story has purpose. Don't wait for permission to become who you were created to be. Believe. Empower. Transform. BET on SELF™. Coach's Corner One of the biggest barriers to healing is believing that our experiences disqualify us from greatness. In reality, our lived experiences often become the very bridge that helps someone else heal. Comparison silences purpose. Fear delays destiny. Healing restores your voice. When we stop apologizing for our journey and begin embracing it, we create space for ourselves and others to grow. Never underestimate what can happen when you decide to speak with authenticity instead of perfection.
