The pandemic accelerated the need for increased collaboration, choice, and flexibility to deliver equitable experiences for occupants. This moment in time has inflicted urgency on companies to deliver technologies that provide options that will empower tenants and employees with information on safety, programming, and convenience in real-time. The impact of access to these technologies has resulted in improved strategies for client retention, talent attraction, and better visibility into building data. The ability to book space, select amenity preferences, host meetings, etc. has enabled developers, operators, and brokers to enhance the overall value of the workplace experience. The speakers will dive into their perspectives to educate our audience on their approach to app development.

PropTech x Occupiers Forum Committee: The Metaverse & What it Means for CRE?
February 16, 2022 - What is the ‘Metaverse? Wondering how it will affect end-users of Corporate Real Estate? Google describes the metaverse as a network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connection, facilitated by the use of virtual and augmented reality. To answer these questions CoreNet NYC has invited Kunal Lunawat, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Agya Ventures to give us an education in all things Metaverse: what it is and is not, and its application in other market sectors such as gaming, retail, and high-end residential. Kunal will be joined by Peter Van Emburgh, Senior VP of Global Corporate Real Estate at CBRE, who will share his experience in developing a virtual workplace pilot as part of the firm’s CRE portfolio strategy. Occupiers will break into rooms to share their understanding (or not!) of the Metaverse, discuss learnings and best practices, and consider how this movement may impact commercial real estate in the years to come. All levels of knowledge are welcome!
