    The Future of a Cashless Society - Collaboration with The Future Is Gold Podcast

    Athlete Profile - Helena Sly - Martial Arts to Bodybuilding, and Living with Mental Illness

    Shifting gears a little here.. In this episode it is just myself, Trent, interviewing a very special guest. Today for the musclecast, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing multisport athlete Helena Sly – internationally competitive martial artist, turned bodybuilder and coach. In this episode we will discuss her journey from the karate dojo to the WBFF stage, as well as a dive into her own challenging mental health journey over recent years.  We do talk about suicide in this episode, which I know can be distressing. Helena Sly is a multi-sport athlete. A dancer tunred internationally competitive martial artist, Helena suffered from severe scoliosis, that resulted in major surgery to fuse her entire spine, bar a few vertebrae. Unphased by the challenges ahead, Helena forged ahead in her karate pursuits across Australia, Europe and Asia, before discovering a love for bodybuilding in her 20s. While competing on the prestigious WBFF stage, Helena has been fighting through her own mental health journey, which she gratefully shared with me today on the Musclecast.
