But it’s not just my story of being a woman in this male-dominated industry that I want to tell. You’ll hear from other ladies in and outside the biz as well! I know there are a lot of women out there, grinding it out everyday who have so many tips and tricks to share. So if any of my stories and experiences can entertain, educate, inspire, or empower you as you go through your daily tasks, then I have accomplished my goal! Join me on this wild ride whether you're looking to start a business, work in the alcohol industry, or are just interested in what goes on behind that glass you just ordered at the bar. Slainte!

Ep 43: One-on-One with Adelaide, Kachaca Spirits

Adelaide spent years assessing risk for an insurance company, using her math background to save money and work out inefficiencies. During COVID she got the entrepreneurship bug and changed gears entirely. Now a couple of years into building a spirits brand from scratch she shares her story - why she made the leap to the alcohol industry, her passion behind the Brazilian drink of cachaca, and a few pointers on getting a company started from the ground up.

    Special Mentions:
    Kachaca Spirits
    Classic Caipirinha Recipe

What is Cachaça? Cachaça is the National Spirit of Brazil and the third most popular spirit in the world with nearly 1 billion liters produced each year. Distilled from fresh sugar cane juice, cachaça production predates Caribbean rum by more than 100 years and has a fruiter, lighter, more floral flavor than rums made from molasses.

Great Podcast!

First, I’m a big fan of South City Cider! I have been since the first time I tasted the OG. Dry Me A River... perfect! Oaked Pomegranate, Stunning! Then I met Jenn at an event. What a great person. Very personable, wealth of cider knowledge. Not we get to hear her on a podcast! Listening to the first episode you can feel her emotions come through. You hear that she cares greatly about her business and how the struggles have taken their toll. COVID stinks! But you can tell the South City Cider will be fine. This is one of the cider companies that will kick some butt in the future! Stay strong you guys. Keep making awesome cider and always be yourself! Love you guys! Raise a pint, at the beginning, middle and end!
