#13. Interview with BM2 Sydney Adams, CGC ESCANABA

How does a BM2 get certified as an underway officer of the deck on a 270' WMEC? Listen in on my conversation with BM2 Adams to find out! We discuss life aboard the cutter, her approach to pursuing her qualifications, and the unique perspective she brings as a female to her position. She also opened up about the role that BMCM Diane Bucci (ret) has played as a mentor in her career. It's highly unlikely that you'll ever meet anyone as determined as BM2 Adams and I'm sure you'll enjoy this episode!

If you've ever wondered why boatswain's mates don't automatically earn a credential based on the nature of our work, you'll definitely want to give this one a listen!

Thank you

This podcast is invaluable for BM's. Thank you for creating this. Could you turn up the mic volume on your mixer? It seems quiet on my end with all volume maxed out. Thank you!

I have a family member joining the Coast Guard and wants to go BM rate. Their CG recruiter recommended checking out the podcast.

They Had to Go Out (a different podcast) is also an awesome podcast with interviews from current to retirees Coast Guard of various duties within Coast Guard.

Course Made Good (this podcast) is different from that one as this podcast is focused exclusively on the BM rate and heavier emphasis on current active duty BM environment.
