    30_Clarity & calm: Self-care for communicators - Eric Wilson

    30_Clarity & calm: Self-care for communicators - Eric Wilson

In today’s episode of Create Space, I welcome Wichita State Senior Educator, Eric Wilson, to the show. Eric is a colleague of mine here in the Elliott School of Communication and an incredible teacher. Something I’ve noticed and admired about Eric is how he pays attention to more than just a student’s grade. He recognizes how important mental wellness is and also how challenging it can be for those of us in the communication industry. He plays an active role in teaching his students how to notice signs of burnout and how to maintain a healthy balance between their personal and professional lives.

Eric doesn’t just talk the talk; he also walks the walk. He teaches self-compassion to his students and lives it in his own life, as well. In this episode, Eric will discuss how to foster a resilient mindset, take restorative breaks and manage stress.

Sapient

The episode on the Sapiens, part one was brilliant. Well spoken and well thought out. It was also very kind to those who may have been disturbed by the author’s blunt perspective. I loved it and I’ll be reading and digesting parts 3 & 4 of the book while anxiously waiting for your take on it. Well done!
