    3825 Unspoken Truths Parents Miss

    No parent is perfect. You can pour your heart into your kid’s well-being, yet blindspots still lurk—those moments or patterns you don’t see but quietly chip away at your relationship or their growth. Oh—the unspoken truths parents miss. Of course, the blindspots are certainly the unspoken truths we miss, the habits we defend, or the patterns we dismiss as “well, this is just how it is.”  Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? The question is not whether you have blindspots but how you choose to find and fix them. The K.I.S.S. ~ S.P.O.T. the blindspots! Here are three no-nonsense moves every parent can pull to spot those blindspots and actually step up. 1. S — SEEK Real Feedback without Defense Stop guessing what you’re doing right or wrong. Go straight to trusted people who see you in action—your partner, friends, or even a coach. And here’s the key: listen without defending. Feedback is your map out of blindspots, but only if you let it in. Here’s the uncomfortable truth: You’re not the best judge of your parenting in isolation. Blindspots often thrive because we reject or dodge honest feedback. The fix? Seek out people who see your parenting from the outside, and listen hard. This could be your partner, close friends with kids, or even a parenting group or coach who won’t sugarcoat. But—and this is critical—don’t just seek feedback to nod along. When you hear criticism, swallow the urge to defend or explain. Ask yourself: Is there truth here? Even if it stings, blindspots hate the light, and honest input is the flashlight. That humility opens the door to change. 2. P — PAUSE and Reflect on Patterns and Triggers Notice your triggers and automatic reactions. When tensions rise, hit pause. Track your feelings, your responses, and the repeated frictions that keep showing up. Reflection shines a light on what’s hidden and gives you space to change. Blindspots often wear two disguises: emotional triggers and repeated patterns that keep causing friction. When your kid acts out or a routine goes south, what’s your automatic reaction? Anger? Over-correcting? Pull back, and track your own feelings and responses over a week or two. Write them down if you need to. Then, ask yourself tough questions: What about this sets me off every time? How might my reaction actually escalate the problem? Are these reactions helping my child learn or just making things tense? Facing these uncomfortable patterns head-on and understanding their roots isn’t a “nice to have” — it’s essential. Awareness is the start of breaking the cycle. 3. O — OWN Your Impact Through Your Child's Eyes Shift from “I’m doing this for them” to “What’s this like from their view?” Imagine your child’s experience of your words and actions. This perspective check reveals blindspots faster than any theory ever will. Want a shortcut to finding blindspots? See your actions through your kid’s eyes. Kids are masters of showing us what we miss — through their behavior, mood, and even the silent withdrawal. But often, we’re too busy or caught up in our intent to notice. The next time you feel stuck or disconnected, stop and ask: How does my child experience this? What might they be needing that I’m overlooking? If I were in their shoes and older, what advice would I give myself? This shift from “I’m doing this for them” to “How is this for them?” flips the script. It forces you to connect the dots between your intentions and the actual impact. 4. T — TAKE Action with Humility Blindspots won’t clear themselves. Use what you learn to make small but consistent changes. Admit when you’re wrong, ask for help when needed, and keep pushing forward. Giving and asking for forgiveness goes a long way. Growth demands humility and persistence—not perfection. HIGHLIGHT: Parenting blindspots won’t disappear if you pretend they don’t exist. Worse, they grow when you defend instead of discover. Getting better isn’t about being perfect—it’s about carrying a ruthless curiosity about yourself as a parent, ready to pivot when needed. Make seeking real feedback, owning your triggers, and tuning into your child’s world non-negotiable. The endless battle with motivation, the frustration of slipping back into old habits, the guilt for missing workouts or grabbing that comfort food—it all piles on. When your feelings take center stage, it’s easy to get stuck in a cycle of “I don’t feel like it,” or “I’ll start tomorrow,” and let days slip away. We want to honor our emotions, but when they constantly hijack our choices, progress grinds to a halt. If we are always attached to our feelings and give those emotions the final say, what actually gets done? You can’t build a life or a body on “I feel tired,” or “I’m too stressed.” Those feelings are real, but they’re not reliable guides for the actions that lead to lasting health. If you wait for peace or motivation to show up before making a move, you’re stuck waiting forever. Feelings flicker—sometimes bright, often dark—but results come from what you do when feelings aren’t cooperating. This means learning to move beyond emotional attachments and making choices that serve your body regardless of how you feel. It’s not about ignoring your feelings; it’s about being the one in control of your actions, not your emotions. That’s where progress happens—when you decide to act anyway, even when peace feels elusive, tiredness looms, and the comfort of old patterns calls your name. Here are three practical moves that keep you going when peace seems out of reach: Shrink the Scope to One Small Win You don’t have to overhaul your entire life today. Drop the mindset that healthy living means perfect salad bowls and hour-long workouts. Instead, zero in on one tiny thing: drink a glass of water, take three deep breathing breaths, stand up and stretch. These small wins add up and remind your body that you’re still in the game, even if your soul feels tired. Anchor to the Body—Not the Noise Your mind will scream all kinds of chaos, but your body knows the truth. When peace is a ghost, listen to what your body needs: a slow walk outside, a moment of stillness, or better sleep hygiene. Respect these signals. They’re your easiest lifeline back to balance, and they don’t require your brain to be “on” all the time. Give Yourself Permission to Reset You’re not failing because peace is missing. Life is messy. When tension is high, give yourself permission to pause—the world can wait. Skipping a workout or eating a comfort meal doesn’t erase progress; it’s part of staying human. Set the intention to come back strong rather than beating yourself up. That’s resilience, not weakness. When peace feels impossible, don’t quit on your body.     3821 Everything Starts as a Seed

    Every journey, every success, and every change begins with a seed. Not just a physical seed planted in soil, but the unseen seeds you plant daily through your mindset, words, actions, and choices. You were created on purpose for a purpose, and living into that purpose is the real prize. What you build—your relationships, your business, your character—everything starts as a seed, and it requires intentionality for it to grow. The truth is simple: you will harvest what you sow. The seeds you plant today become the outcomes you face tomorrow. That’s why it’s critical to focus on planting the right seeds and nurturing them wisely. There are positive seeds, such as kindness, faith, integrity, and perseverance. And then there are toxic seeds such as gossip, greed, and negativity. Here’s the catch: all seeds take time to grow. You don’t plant a seed in the ground and expect immediate fruit. It takes seasons of dedication and patience before you can reap the harvest. Biblical wisdom reminds us in Ecclesiastes 11:6, “Keep on sowing your seed, for you never know which will grow—perhaps it all will.” This verse is not just spiritual encouragement but a practical life principle. You keep investing in what matters, even when results aren’t immediate, because eventually, something will flourish. You must focus on the seed you want to sow. The K.I.S.S. ~ Focus on the seed you want to sow! But that takes more than just figuring it out all on your own. I do believe God leaves clues, but you must be willing to lean in to what He desires for you. Stop running. Stop hiding. Choose to cultivate the right harvest. So how do you ensure you’re cultivating the right harvest? What can you do to care for the seeds you are tending to so that what grows will be good, strong, and worth harvesting? Here are three essential actions: Plant with Intentionality Don’t scatter seeds blindly. Be clear about the values and actions you want to cultivate in your life, and that includes your business. Every choice you make—whether it’s how you speak to others, what habits you form, or what projects you start—is planting a seed. Choose seeds that align with your purpose and the legacy you want to leave behind. Intentional planting means you’re not reactive; you’re purposeful. Nurture Consistently Seeds don’t grow overnight, and they won’t grow without care. This means consistent effort and attention. Nurture the relationships, skills, and habits that support your goals. Show kindness regularly, build trust consistently, and hone your craft persistently. This steady nurturing creates strong roots that withstand storms. When you’re patient and consistently feed your seeds with positivity and hard work, growth occurs. Protect Your Garden Not every seed deserves your energy. Guard your space from weeds like negativity, comparison, and toxic influences that choke out healthy growth. Be selective about what thoughts, people, and activities you allow to take root in your life. Pruning what doesn’t serve your vision creates room for your good seeds to thrive fully. Remember, the harvest you experience tomorrow depends on the seeds you plant and tend today. Maybe you’re frustrated waiting to see results. That’s normal. Trust the process. Keep sowing the seeds of integrity, faith, effort, and kindness. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to harvest..." You were created for a purpose. That means the seeds you plant are not random—they have the potential to grow into something meaningful to the point where you go out and impact the world you touch.     3820 The God of Do-Overs

    When life pounds hard and hope feels distant, despair and discouragement can grip tightly. It’s easy to believe the story has ended, that the mess and pain will define us permanently. Yet our God is not just the God of beginnings—He’s the God of do-overs. God is constantly moving, always creating new paths where none seem to exist. Join us at the Kairos FREE Online Community. https://createyournow.com Isaiah 43:19 holds a powerful promise: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” This verse doesn’t only speak to the past Israelites wandering desolate lands. It speaks directly to you and me, in the moments when our own wilderness feels endless and God’s blessings seem unreachable. He is actively at work—doing something new—right when our circumstances scream otherwise. The wilderness and wasteland are vivid images of hardship: places dry, barren, and full of challenges. But God’s promise is clear: He makes a way. He brings flowing streams. Streams mean refreshment, renewal, life bursting forth where none existed before. When life is tough, the path ahead can look impossible to navigate. But God’s do-over grace calls us to surrender through hope. Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” The K.I.S.S. ~ The God of do-overs! Hope is not wishful thinking. It’s a deliberate act of trust, a surrender to our Heavenly Father who specializes in new beginnings. When we choose hope amid hardship, we open ourselves to the blessings He’s already preparing—though we may not yet perceive them. Even when the minutes and hours stretch unbearably, God’s renewing work has not stopped. Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Each new morning is a divine reset—a do-over of the circumstances that try to bind us. God’s mercy and faithfulness don’t run dry. They flood the wasteland of our hearts with streams that nurture healing and growth. So if you find yourself stuck in despair, uncertain how to move forward—look up. See the new things God is doing. Surrender your discouragement through hope, trusting that the God of do-overs is making a way for you right now. You are not defined by your past failures, your current pain, or your fears about tomorrow. You belong to God who creates fresh starts. Are you ready for God's do-overs? "Be present. Be incredible. Rest is giving yourself permission to pause, recharge, and reclaim your emotional bandwidth. When one or both partners are running on empty, misunderstandings multiply, small annoyances feel like major battles, and love seems to dwindle under the pressure. Here are three game-changing moves: Create Intentional Quiet Time Alone Ignore the noise from devices, work, and family obligations for even just 15-30 minutes daily. Use this time to breathe, journal, meditate, or simply stare out a window thinking about nothing but the present moment. This mental break lowers stress hormones, resets emotional reactivity, and allows your heart to slow down. Prioritize Quality Sleep as a Non-Negotiable No excuses. Set a bedtime that lets you get deep, uninterrupted rest. Better sleep improves mood regulation, decision-making, and intimacy. It’s common sense but shockingly underrated. Rested people handle conflict with grace — tired people do not. Set Boundaries Around “Busy” and Learn to Say No Your worth isn’t tied to how many things you check off your list. Stop saying yes to everything that pulls your attention and energy away from your relationship. Rest includes guarding your calendar fiercely so you can show up fully for your spouse, rather than as a distracted, worn-out version of yourself. If your heart feels weighed down, look first to rest. It’s not a sign of weakness or laziness. It’s a strategic move if you want to love fiercely, clearly, and well.     3818 When Your Words Feel Small

    As parents, it's hard to know if what we are saying is sticking. Sometimes, we talk in circles and nothing seems to change. Whatever you do, don't give up when your words feel small. You know what it's like to talk in circles, replay the same conversations, and wonder if any of it actually lands. Those moments when your words feel small—like they barely ripple the surface—can shake even the most confident parent. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? It’s about showing up—steady, consistent, and real. The “real thing” isn’t a perfect speech or the right phrase; it’s your presence, your commitment, your refusal to give up. Because if you get tangled in your own guilt and emotions, you risk losing the thread of what matters. This is not the time to adopt the belief that you are not a good parent. But for the most part, moms (and dads) are doing their best, and sometimes that has to be enough. Sometimes, you just have to complement your words. The K.I.S.S. ~ Complement your words! If you get stuck in your head that you're not good enough as a parent, you are going to sink fast. Instead of wondering what you can't do or what should be done, stick to complementing your words. So, how do you keep the main thing, the main thing, when your words feel like whispers lost in a storm? Here are three no-nonsense moves that work for all ages—from toddlers to adult children. 1. Anchor Your Message in Actions, Not Just Words When kids are little, they may not fully grasp the weight of what you say. A toddler’s world is about feeling safe, seen, and loved—sometimes more than understanding complex instructions. Take Maria, a mom of a 3-year-old who was struggling with bedtime tantrums. Maria found that no matter how many times she told her son it was time to sleep, he kept resisting. So she switched the approach. Instead of talking more, she created a bedtime routine: reading a story, dimming the lights, and playing soft music. The routine spoke louder than words. The message was clear—bedtime means calm and comfort. For teenagers, who often tune out lectures, actions speak volumes, too. A dad named Steve wanted to convey trust and responsibility to his rebellious 16-year-old daughter. Instead of more stern warnings, Steve gave her space to make a few mistakes but stayed consistently available when she needed to talk—no judgment, just listening. Over time, the consistency of his presence landed where words had failed. And what about adult kids? Joanna, whose 25-year-old son struggled with job uncertainties, stopped offering unsolicited advice and simply checked in regularly, sharing her own challenges openly. Her simple act of vulnerability invited real conversations, changing the dynamic from frustration to connection. 2. Refocus on the Feeling You Want to Create When your words feel small, remember the core feeling you want to plant. Is it safety? Understanding? Respect? Patience? Kids pick up on how you make them feel more than the exact words you say. Think of Sarah, who had an 8-year-old who often acted out at school. Instead of piling on “You need to behave,” she shifted to saying, “I’m here to help you figure this out.” It wasn’t a clever phrase, but it changed the tone. Sarah made her son feel supported, not singled out—and that shifted everything. For grown children, it’s about meeting them emotionally where they are. David’s adult daughter was distant after a tough breakup. He stopped trying to fix things through words and instead sent little notes and texts that simply said, “Thinking of you.” Those small gestures made her see he was present without pressure, which slowly reopened their communication. 3. Give Yourself Permission to Be Human and Keep Showing Up The hardest part might be cutting yourself some slack. When your words feel small, it’s tempting to spiral into thoughts like “I’m not good enough” or “I’m failing as a parent.” However, the truth is that no one gets this perfectly right. Take Lisa, mother of a 12-year-old, who found herself snapping and then obsessing over every misstep. She started reminding herself: “I’m doing the best I can right now.” Instead of falling into guilt, she used that mindset to apologize, reset, and keep being consistent. Her son noticed the humility and felt safer opening up. For parents of adult kids, it might mean acknowledging limits. Greg struggled with his 30-year-old daughter’s choices. He learned to respect her autonomy without retreating emotionally. Recognizing that sometimes being there means accepting things you can’t control is its own powerful message. Final Word Mom (and Dad), stop beating yourself up for every “small” word that seems to vanish in thin air. Your best is the real deal. In the messy, repetitive, overwhelming dance of parenting, your consistency, your intention, and your presence are the anchors your children need. Keep showing up. Keep being imperfectly present.
