EP #20 | Standing Out as an Actor
Purists, be damned...despite what artsy fartsy culture has told us, there are practical realities of operating as a freelancer of any kind including making sure you’re standing out from the rest of the competition. In this episode, the boys examine what it means to "stand out" both in terms of talent and strategic positioning within this saturated, competitive industry. Yes, everyone’s going gaga over Rick Rubin’s “The Creative Act” but the boys throw a little shade at its core concept and, as always, each other. Most importantly, their primary aim is to provide actionable insights and strategies for creatives hoping to edge their work forward. What makes you different from your competition? Why is your artistic POV needed? How are you actually going to break through the noise and demand attention? You won't want to miss this episode where LABOD and Joshua navigate the delicate balance between artistry and business.

EP #18 | Approaching Your Creative Career From a Place of Love or Fear
The guys dive deep, tackling the impact of fear versus love on decision-making and actions (or inactions) on our artistic journeys. Covering everything from taking risks, battling perfectionism and the constant comparison game, LABOD and Joshua draw from their own experiences, good and bad. The key takeaway? It's all about finding that sweet spot between artistic liberation and cold practicality; leading with creative joy, while embracing feedback, and surrendering to the never ending process of growth and discovery. Plus, Mike might have been a bit...*ahem*...elevated during the recording, adding an extra layer of "insight". Tune in to this transparent, personal and hopefully inspiring conversation.

EP #15 | Was Acting Conservatory Worth It?
These boys went to one of the best acting conservatories in the world (according to some very "important" industry lists). However, these world-class institutions may not be all they're cracked up to be! In this episode they discuss various topics related to the pros and cons of choosing a conservatory over a liberal arts program, including some memorable school moments, quality of acting training, development of identity and work ethic, and power dynamics. In true chaotic fashion they also have a huge political disagreement about the election and discuss Havana syndrome. Enjoy!

Must listen for creatives
This podcast is not for the faint of heart - but for creatives that are ready to face the reality of the industry and truly take their art and impact to the next level. Hilarious, honest and feels like you’re in the room with them. Lots of honest interviews. The owned audience podcast is gold.
PS - not for people who get offended easily 😂
Joshua and Mike are so fun to listen to
Listening to Joshua and Mike talk is really fun. They’re quick witted and funny, but also supremely real and down-to-earth about an industry whose realities are very harsh and very challenging to work and exist in. This podcast is a fantastic listen, and maybe a necessary one for those 86% of actors who’s not making 25k a year from acting.
Hilarious, relatable, authentic
Couldn’t recommend this podcast more to the actor/creative community. Mike and Joshua are literally so hysterical together— their takes and strategies on building a sustainable career are incredibly honest while also being actionable. 100000/10
