I’m so glad I discovered this podcast. It’s quickly become my favorite industry podcast. I learn so much each week and laugh so much. What a great podcast!

Joshua Morgan and Mike Labbadia (who insists on going by ‘Labbad’) offer us a weekly meditation on how to thoughtfully and practically approach working in the arts with a focus on the acting side of the entertainment industry. Joshua’s analytical approach is complimented by Labbad’s more instinctual route through the worlds of self producing, representation relationships, and personal artistic marketing among myriad topics, all without a politically correct filter. The show, a mix of J. & L. in discussion and interviews with individuals from the middle of the industry pack, offers no huge stars, but also steers clear of fresh new ‘it’ performers. Instead they speak with women and men who, often quietly, consistently carve out a life and living in the Arts, allowing them to share wisdom learned along the way. Using ribald humor and non-sequitur questioning, with occasionally moving moments, every episode offers the listener actionable advice on how to make a living in a life in the arts. Creative Risk worth the weekly listen.

PACKED with sage advice, thoughtful conversations, great guests, and hilarious banter between Mike and Josh. But it’s really helpful to hear the two of them sharing personal stories and experiences about being in the business and how they also are navigating their way through just like the rest of us. It’s both comforting and a blast to listen to. Keep it up, guys!
