S1E14: Interview with writer, actor and filmmaker Dario Shields
Dario Shields is a young filmmaker from Montego Bay Jamaica. This man has achieved so much and encountered many tribulations on his journey. He holds and associate degree in business studies and marketing and an Associate Degree in chartered accounting. His goal is to some day win an Oscar from Montego Bay Community College.
He has made over 10 short films, wrote a book, achieved many awards as an actor, filmmaker and youth advocate and is getting reading to make his first movie.
Humbled by harsh life experiences himself, the talent that God has given him, Dario is a Youth Advocate who is very active in not only his church, but his community, former college, but Jamaica on a whole. His goal is to inspire the world, and sharing the simple but powerful message that as a youth, child or even an older folk, despite what it is you go through, you simply need to believe in yourself, even if others doubt you and sometimes when you think you’re a failure and no one believes in you, just blink you will see just how lucky you are. He has titled his first novel as “Ghetto Born, God Raised’, a tremendous story similar to his own. Growing up in the ghetto himself and seeing many persons giving up on themselves simply because they don’t have the funds, support or the resources they need, Dario has decided to use his God given talent to inspire others with the message that, ‘you only need one thing and that’s God.’ Currently Dario has his eyes set on venturing into the world of Filming as another avenue to inspire the world. Today, he preaches a simple message that, ‘it’s not your setbacks, it’s how you comeback.’ -
