A Field Guide to Gay Animals

A Field Guide to Gay Animals

Today Nancy is sharing a new show you might like. A Field Guide to Gay Animals explores sexuality, gender, and joy in the animal world. Animal enthusiasts Owen Ever and Laine Kaplan-Levenson take you on a quest to see beyond the natural world as we know it.

In this episode, Owen, Laine, and a 200 year-old gay tortoise explore the history of scientific research into gay animals. From gay swans, to self-pleasuring elephants, to amorous giraffes, they learn how scientists have been understanding and misunderstanding queerness in nature for centuries. And they introduce a bold researcher in the 1990’s who helped people see nature for what it is - abundantly queer.

What an amazing gift..

I started out a bit skeptical. After losing my dog two years ago, I was desperate to connect with her on any level I could. I booked an appointment with her immediately and was astounded by the things that she knew. She is the real deal. When I saw her promoting her podcast on Instagram, I knew I had to listen. I love when a new episode drops, we thoroughly enjoy every show. My husband and I listen as we walk our dog. Nancy has an amazing gift to share with the world.

Love it!

Nancy has an incredible gift! Love the podcast because I love hearing the stories! I loved having sessions with her and hearing from my sweet Rokko who passed and then having her help us let tell our sweet Hashbrown he now has a forever home and gets to live out his golden years by being loved and treated like a king ❤️ Thank you Nancy for sharing your gift and these stories!
