He asks and answers the question: Why has GOD set such an untenable price on the soul of humankind? Martin also explains why the 'Prosperity Gospel' needs to be avoided! And then he concludes with the fascinating Catechism question: How can we glorify God?     “HOW CAN YOU SPEAK GOOD, WHEN YOU ARE EVIL?”

    I come from an era where our moms would wash our mouths out with soap if we had a potty mouth! Is there a way to tame our tongues, so that we don't put our foot in our mouths? In this episode we see Jesus using the analogy of a tree and fruit, to illustrate how the mouth only ever speaks out of what it is filled with. For instance, when someone rubbishes a reputation, we can be sure that their heart is a garbage can! Martin explores a beautiful solution that God offers for us to clean up our speech. He also brings in the wonder of the catechism question about all the "very good" things that God has made in Creation.     GOT CLARITY?

    The Jesus-question in this episode prompts the following Q-MAXIM: “Be humbly honest about who you are, before you are honest about who you think someone else should be.” The simple answer to the Catechism Question: What is God? is that He is PERFECT in every way! Martin teaches on some of those ways in this episode. The historical takeaway from Samuel Rutherford is that, what is small in the eyes of men now, has a future that is amplified in God. Rutherford was a courageous defender of truth, and his authority lay squarely in the fact that he was deeply connected to the Saviour, and to the sacred scriptures that revealed GOD for who he truly is. He says the reason for the podcast, is an unreasonable choice. Martin explains how, in salvation, we bring nothing to the table by way of value, and that, if we don't get our 'value'-transaction off the table, we will diminish the full value of Christ alone, who as GOD, must die for GOD, for the full ransom price to be paid! Martin shares about his own deliverance from aggression and alcoholism, and how GOD set him on a life-cycle of repentance and forgiveness.
