Finally Celebrated: Esther Newton’s Journey from Outlier to LGBTQ+ Icon
A fitting quest for Pride Month, Esther Newton's personal and professional struggles mirror sixty years of LGBTQ+ history. In the mid-1950s, catapulted out of a liberal household in New York to a rigidly-gendered southern California high school where girls were frilly and feminine, Esther was, in her own words, “a failure as a girl.” She knew she was different—a “homosexual,” as such deviants were then called. Alone as a teenager, fearing she had no chance at a normal life, Esther ...

Learning
That’s why I listen, to learn things. Jan did a great job in this interview.
I hope I got it right that I understood Dr. Hampikian to say that if DNA is NOT found, that doesn’t necessarily prove someone’s innocence! Yikes. Attorneys hoping to continue billing for time might tout the “insufficient evidence” to cast doubt on someone’s innocence even though there is no DNA to link them to crime.
Thanks for having Dr. Hampikian share his woke knowledge!
Willing to take on challenging topics!
Very much enjoyed my interview with Jan Flynn for the Crow’s Feet podcast. I appreciate that Crow’s Feet just doesn’t do fluff pieces about aging, and is willing to take on tough topics such as how ageism shows up in the workplace, and what we can do about it. Bravo!
A favorite
This is one of my very favorite podcasts. As a retired woman, mother, grandmother, and senior- it is so completely relatable.
