    Positive Psychology, Web3, and the Metaverse with Daniela C. Merlano

    Kamilah and Nova chat about what they are doing in the Web3 world. Kamilah is launching a new YouTube video and podcast called Fashion Futurist centered around the fashion space and social impact. Nova talks about her many speaking opportunities and even more coming up. Positive psychology, web3, and the metaverse This week’s guest is Daniela C. Merlano. Has more than 5 years as a positive psychologist, working to create a more empathic world and build a more mindful Web3. Daniela seeks to inspire more women to think bigger than they were taught to. Daniela tells her crypto origin story and talks about weaving technology into her work and making a greater, positive impact on the world with it. She shares information about use cases to look forward to. Daniela goes on to discuss using AI in her work and exploring it further.     Art, Blockchain, and Impact with Scarlett Arana

    Kamilah and Nova chat about what they are doing in the Web3 world. Kamilah recently hosted a Web3 event and has another with fashion coming up. Nova has been speaking on the Metaverse, spreading awareness and education – while playing with new Web3 and AI tools for art. Art, Blockchain, and Impact This week’s guest is Scarlett Arana. Scarlett was featured as one of the Top 100 women of the future. She’s an FIU and UF graduate – cofounder of BitBasel. She’s spearheaded numerous initiatives, has a hand in space tech, and is an SDG-14 UN Ambassador. Scarlett has helped to teach multiple artists and creators how to use emerging technologies in the NFT space. Scarlett talks about how art and blockchain can generate impact. She explains Regenerative defi – how you create impact that empowers artists with creating different initiatives. She explains SDGs - Sustainable Development goals. Refi – a way to impact climate change, gender equality, and the like to measure initiatives such as carbon clean-up. Regenerative is a means to identify where energy comes from –specifically renewable energy. Scarlett explains BitBasel and what they do. She defines artificial intelligence (AI) and the algorithms it uses through machine learning (ML) – and how it is often misunderstood, as well as how it gets applied to blockchain and the work that goes into creating with it.     Transitioning from Web2 to Web3 with Catherine Hinderman

    Kamilah and Nova chat about their transitions from web2 to web3. They talk about getting into tech and organizations focused on technology that helped them move to this new evolution of the internet. Nova talks about having one foot in web2 and the other in web3. Yet over time, Nova’s found herself becoming more and more part of the metaverse and web3 movement. Transitioning from Web3 to Web3 This week’s guest is Catherine Hinderman. She joins Kamilah and Nova from India (a 10.5-hour time difference). Catherine is originally from Sweden, educated in the US, and is working on a new luxury brand in India, where she is CEO and co-founder of Gaia-Amore. Catherine was in a tech accelerator when she saw how gaming was involved in the tech – but should be similarly available to artisans. Gaia-Amore is focused on creating a hybrid between physical luxury and digital luxury. They also provide a means for artisans with less education - but a tremendous amount of culture and skill - to reach a new and larger audience and expand their exposure, too. Catherine had to wrap her head around NFTs when she first encountered them – but then she understood their benefit as a creative product that holds value. When asked how the metaverse will impact eCommerce, Catherine says this is only the beginning. Brands have to innovate to compete, and Gen Z has been digitized more or less all their lives – so they’re likely to drive this. How do you get customers into Web3 and all that’s there? Catherine shares multiple resources for learning more – starting with LinkedIn. Nova, Catherine, and Kamilah talk about how web3 and the metaverse are not scary. People like Nova, Catherine, and Kamilah stand between these two worlds and can help people transition between them.     Community and Connections in Web3 with Caroline Johnová

    Kamilah and Nova chat about their ongoing projects as they open Season 2, and all they have been up to since season 1. Kamilah talks about her focus on education and conversation about the Metaverse, NFTs, and Web3 spaces. Kamilah and Nova talk about the “phigital” experience (experiences combining both the physical and digital). Nova talks about her NASA tech accelerator program, what she got from it, and her upcoming Web3 project launch. She talks about LORR and its connections to the bespoke metaverse. Community and Connections in Web3 This week’s guest is Caroline Johnová. She is a co-founder and CEO of WAGMI Guide and COO of WEYU. She’s a multi-disciplinary creative tech leader. Always a creative in marketing and branding, it was her discovery of NFTs that brought Caroline into Web3. Caroline explores the process of starting a community in Web3. She says it begins by identifying your primary goal – then collaborating with your shareholders. Then unite with others within and without the industry to support your idea and project. Small and highly engaged is important to the community. Caroline discusses being vocal about attracting followers and self-promotion to help create belonging. She also offers tips for fundraising.     Community and Collaboration with Leila Hurstel

    Kamilah and Nova chat about their ongoing projects and new and exciting happenings in Web3 and the Metaverse. This week’s guest is Leila Hurstel. She is an innovator and tech founder. Co-founder of AllStarsWomen NFT Club and DAO. Shareholder of Verse Estate, and a member of women's tech network. Leila recently turned 20 but is thoroughly immersed in Web3 and the Metaverse. She got started by growing up surrounded by founders and entrepreneurs and decided to learn about Blockchain and the technology of Web3. Leila talks about community building, connections, and having a collaborative approach. She also advises to be collaborative and share resources with each other – but it’s okay to sometimes say “no”, too. Leila goes on to offer an in-depth explanation of just what a DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) is and its plusses and minuses. She also talks about future plans for her DAO and more.     Fashion and Building Communities in the Metaverse with Simon Mikolajcyzk

    Kamilah and Nova chat about fashion in Web3 and the Metaverse. This week’s guest is Simon Mikolajcyzk. He is a skilled entrepreneur. He’s done a lot of community building, marketing efforts, and fundraising. As part of Maison DAO, Simon has been doing a great deal of work to build more communities and connections in Web3. Simon first got into Crypto/blockchain when he moved to Berlin. He was thinking about connecting blockchain and fashion. He also wanted to find out how to help limit waste and work with the supply chain Nova and Kamilah also talk about the connections between marketing and community building. Simon talks about Maison DAO and creating a new home for brands in Web3 and the metaverse. “Fashion doesn’t exist in a vacuum.” At the same time, it is always connected to other art. He goes on to talk about how Web3 opens the way for better global communication and “hybrid” events online and in-person (IRL). There are technical limitations to hybrid events, but it’s improving, and many different people are working to improve on them.     Building in the Metaverse with Fatemeh Monfared

    Kamilah and Nova discuss Web3. They discuss how someone designs in the Metaverse versus the real world. They talk about helping people get into, engage, and interact in the Metaverse and where it can and is going with creatives. Fatemeh Monfared is a licensed architect building in the Metaverse. She’s co-founder and chief Metaverse architect at Spaces DAO. NFT co-creator. Fatemeh tells her crypto story. Her first exposure was by a teacher in 2013. In 2017, Fatemeh got into crypto investing. With the pandemic, she entered the Metaverse as a creative. She discusses how building the virtual world differs from building a physical structure – such as removing the engineering restrictions - and re-touches on the possibilities without physical limitations. Spaces DAO is a collective of artists, architects, and others working to bring design aesthetics to the metaverse. They help with the creation of NFTs as deployable 3D elements. Members of the DAO are creators working together to release various creations. Fatemeh talks about building in both Web2 and Web3. She shares thoughts on getting into the various platforms of the Metaverse and becoming familiar with what is there to see how to build and improve on what’s being created.     Demystifying Music Accessibility in Web3 with YahZarah Oduro

    Kamilah and Nova discuss the music industry and its connections to crypto, NFTs, and Web3. They explore how Web3 opens new avenues for creatives to take back their ownership and monetize their work without the middleman. YahZarah is a singer, songwriter, and producer, and has worked with multiple big-name acts. She has been Grammy-nominated and went to the same college as Kamilah. YahZarah discusses how contracting COVID impacted her life, and after recovering she had to find new avenues to share her work. An introduction to NFTs helped her find a new path. She talks about how Web3 helped her find a new audience and encouragement to continue her art, despite difficult times. She talks about how you can be yourself and create something incredible in Web3 with all the new people getting into and succeeding in the space. YahZarah explains how tokenization gives musicians and other artists a new avenue for “sovereignty” along the way.
