    Episode 35 - April 29, 2026 - Nick Wapachee

Welcome back to CSB Check-In’s 35th episode. We’re glad to be back on air with you.  Today’s show is full of updates and stories for our community, students, and parents. Let’s get started.  First, we have “Did You Know?” We’ll share helpful facts about the Cree School Board that you may not have heard before.  Next, we’ll hear from Cree School Board Director General Caroline Mark as she shares a message for Goose Break.  We’ll take a moment to hear from Liam Swallow, a youth from Mistissini High School, as he shares his earliest memory of Goose Break. He talks about spending time on the land with family — a time of learning, connection, and belonging. His story reminds us how being on the land helps pass on knowledge, traditions, and culture to the next generation.  Before we continue, we’d like to highlight the Advanced Indigenous Information and Communication Technologies program offered through the Cree School Board. This fully funded program prepares students for future studies and careers in the tech industry. It provides hands-on training, internships, and the skills needed to succeed in high-demand fields.  Calling all aspiring students. Stay tuned for important updates on Adult and Higher Learning program deadlines.  And if you’re looking for work, we have job opportunities available at the Cree School Board. We’ll share the details.  Thanks for joining us.  I’m Nick Wapachee. Let’s get started.
