Liberty Road: San Diego Civil Rights with Dr. Harold K. Brown
In honor of Black History Month, we got the chance to speak with Dr. Harold K. Brown, a Civil Rights Leader who led demonstrations during the Civil Rights Movement. Dr. Brown grew up in York, Pennsylvania then eventually moved to San Diego to attend San Diego State University. He challenged housing and employment discrimination and eventually cofounded and chaired the local Congress of Racial Equality. He later became the first African American to hold administrative rank at SDSU as the Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Assistant to the Vice President for Administration.
