    Business Class, Economy Spine

The month-long Italian birthday extravaganza is officially over—but apparently getting home required one final humiliation. On this episode of Currently Cringing, we’re leaving Italy for one last day in Zurich, where I’m already on my period, my joints hurt, I don’t feel well, and my definition of sightseeing has become buying exceptional Swiss fruit and cheese and going home. We need to discuss why I barely eat at restaurants in America anymore, why a $150 dinner full of mediocre ingredients no longer excites me, and why at forty-one I would genuinely rather have my closest friends come to my house than spend three hours screaming over music while somebody brings me a $26 salad. Then we arrive at the Zurich airport, where the Swiss business-class lounge has an entire individually packaged ice-cream bar—Magnums, cones, sandwiches, popsicles—plus à la carte breakfast, beer, outdoor seating and views of the planes taking off. Naturally, despite already feeling terrible and knowing sugar can trigger a migraine, I decide that if my body has already betrayed me, I might as well have a bite of ice cream. Foreshadowing. We board our flight home and immediately the man in front of us discovers his business-class seat won’t recline. He is furious. He wants answers. He wants compensation. He wants Switzerland held accountable. The crew eventually manages to manually fix his seat, he settles down, and I quietly think, Thank God that’s not us. Never think that thought. Because shortly after takeoff, I get a migraine. I take my triptan like the reformed pharmaceutical enthusiast I now am, wait for the seatbelt sign to disappear and prepare for the one thing I specifically paid thousands of dollars to do: lie completely flat and become unconscious over the Atlantic. Except my business-class seat reclines halfway… …and stops. The buttons don’t work. The seat won’t move. My head is exploding, my joints are aching, I’m actively menstruating, and fifteen minutes later the handsome, muscular captain of the flight crew has removed his jacket, rolled up his sleeves and is literally underneath my seat like a mechanic changing the transmission on a Honda Civic. Oh my God, that poor woman. Followed immediately by: Thank God it isn’t me. And just when we thought the trip was finally over, we got home and Italy apparently received permission to lose its mind. Mount Etna started erupting, the summer heat arrived, travel disruptions followed, and people were dealing with the exact peak-season chaos I had spent the entire trip warning you about. Which brings us to the final lesson of this month in Italy: GO IN EARLY JUNE. This episode is the grand finale to our Italian adventure: Zurich, Swiss food, airport lounge ice cream, migraines, periods, marriage, broken business-class seats, airline economics, travel chaos, Mount Etna, European heat waves and why sometimes the greatest luxury of an international vacation is getting back to your own bed. Italy was magical. The flight home rearranged my spine. And somehow, I’d do the whole thing again. Topics: Italy travel, Switzerland travel, Zurich Airport, Swiss Air business class, SWISS business class review, broken lie-flat seat, luxury travel disasters, airline complaints, business class travel, Italy in June, best time to visit Italy, Sicily travel, Mount Etna, European summer heat, migraine while traveling, couples travel, luxury travel reviews, funny travel stories, Italian summer, and the final chapter of the Currently Cringing Italy series. #FunnyPodcast #Relatable #ComedyPodcast #FunnyGirls #GirlsPodcast #WomenPodcast #MillennialPodcast #femalepodcast #popculture Hosted on Acast. Portofino Problems

Portofino Is Smaller Than Costco & I’m Retiring From Beach Clubs And just like that, we’ve reached the final stop of our month in Italy: Liguria, Santa Margherita Ligure, Portofino and the Italian Riviera—where the pesto is perfect, the water is crystal clear, and apparently a luxury vacation can still involve fighting a seagull for your smoked salmon. Anisha gives her completely unfiltered guide to Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Paraggi and Cinque Terre, including why Portofino is spectacular but approximately the size of a Costco dairy section; why she chose the Imperiale Palace Hotel over the newly renovated Belmond Splendido; and why no hotel room on Earth is objectively worth $4,000 a night—so if she’s making an emotionally irrational financial decision, she refuses to repack her suitcase halfway through it. Then: the obsessive luxury-hotel research nobody tells you to do, the exact-room-photo email every traveler should send before booking, why hotel websites are “not technically lying, but spiritually lying,” the demographic Anisha considers her unofficial luxury-hotel rating system, and the organized-crime syndicate of enormous Italian seagulls conducting precision salmon heists at breakfast. She also gives her real Cinque Terre travel advice: the two villages she’d prioritize, why you don’t need to collect all five like Pokémon, when to hike, when absolutely not to hike, and why peak-summer Cinque Terre can feel less like an Italian fantasy and more like a group heatstroke. And finally, after Bagni Fiore in Paraggi, Anisha formally announces her retirement from beach clubs worldwide. The babies were innocent. The parents brought what appeared to be the entire baby registry. The beach club was nearly empty. Somehow, a €300 pair of loungers still came with a front-row view of strollers, floaties and someone else’s diaper bag. After Jondal and Blue Marlin in Ibiza, the South of France, Taormina and now Portofino, she has reached a conclusion: luxury is not proximity. Luxury is space, privacy, peace—and not having someone else’s inflatable giraffe blocking your view of the Mediterranean. Plus: Langosteria Paraggi, why the food almost redeemed the entire experience, her husband’s ongoing transformation into a sea turtle, and the Italian Riviera hotel she predicts the internet is about to discover and make impossible to book. Italy travel, Portofino travel guide, Italian Riviera, Santa Margherita Ligure, Cinque Terre, Liguria, luxury hotels Italy, Belmond Splendido, Imperiale Palace Hotel, Bagni Fiore, Langosteria Paraggi, luxury travel, Italy summer travel and beach clubs—reviewed with absolutely no diplomatic immunity. #FunnyPodcast #Relatable #ComedyPodcast #FunnyGirls #GirlsPodcast #WomenPodcast #MillennialPodcast #femalepodcast #popculture Hosted on Acast. Kelton

This episode starts before we even leave Miami, when a Japanese hair straightening appointment almost leaves me bald and a hairstylist unknowingly saves my entire trip. From there, we’re off to Milan for my husband’s 40th birthday before making our way to Sardinia, one of the most expensive luxury destinations in Europe. Along the way, we talk about what luxury travel actually looks like when the Instagram filters come off. I share why Milan is so much more than fashion, visiting Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper, the disappearing art of historical restoration, why I think our generation has forgotten how to preserve craftsmanship, and one of my favorite experiences of the trip: designing bespoke Italian glasses with master artisans in Milan. Then we head to Sardinia and the Costa Smeralda, where I explain why I skipped Porto Cervo’s influencer scene, crypto millionaires, yacht culture, and beach clubs in favor of a quieter luxury hotel in Porto Rotondo. We also get into why I will never rent a car in Europe, why hiring a driver is the greatest luxury money can buy, and how to actually enjoy an Italian vacation without spending half your trip stressed behind the wheel. Along the way you’ll meet New Jersey families tracing their Italian roots, DINK couples trying for one last European summer before kids, an unforgettable overnight Delta flight featuring a five-year-old named Kelton and his enthusiastic parents, and my completely irrational fear of driving on European roads. In this episode we cover: • Luxury Italy travel in 2026 • Milan travel guide and hidden gems • The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci • Japanese hair straightening and keratin treatments • Custom Italian eyewear and bespoke glasses in Milan • Sardinia travel and the Costa Smeralda • Porto Rotondo vs. Porto Cervo • Luxury hotels in Sardinia • Why hiring a private driver in Italy beats renting a car • Honest luxury travel advice • Delta Business Class • Funny travel stories and observational comedy Next episode, we finally get on the boat. We’re talking emerald water, freezing Mediterranean temperatures, luxury yacht culture, getting my period at the worst possible time, and an encounter with members of the Saudi royal family that I never saw coming. #FunnyPodcast #Relatable #ComedyPodcast #FunnyGirls #GirlsPodcast #WomenPodcast #MillennialPodcast #femalepodcast #popculture Hosted on Acast. Bleeding in Italy

I disappeared for three weeks, and today is the first day I’ve truly felt like myself again. Something unexpected happened after I got home, and one day I’ll share the full story. I’m just waiting until I’m completely on the other side of it because I want to tell it with the perspective it deserves. For now, we’re rewinding to where it all began. Welcome to Part 1 of my Italy series. In this episode, I’m taking you behind the perfectly curated Instagram photos from our luxury trip through Sardinia, Sicily, Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Milan, and the Italian Riviera for my husband’s 40th birthday. We get into what luxury travel actually looks like when you’re dealing with chronic migraines, a week-long period, freezing Mediterranean boat days, thalassophobia, travel exhaustion, and the pressure to pretend every expensive vacation was perfect. We talk about the reality of Mediterranean yacht days, swimming in Italy, why the water in Sardinia is so cold, my lifelong fear of sharks, Swiss Air business class, traveling with chronic illness, hormonal migraines, luxury hotels, expensive vacations, influencer culture, Instagram versus reality, and why I believe honesty has become one of the rarest things on the internet. If you’ve ever searched for an honest Italy travel review, wondered whether Portofino, Sardinia, Sicily, or the Italian Riviera are actually worth the hype, questioned whether luxury travel is worth the cost, or felt like social media only shows the highlight reel, this episode is for you. This is just the beginning. More episodes covering Italy, luxury travel, hotels, restaurants, flights, budgeting, travel mistakes, and everything that happened on this trip are coming soon. And when the time is right, I’ll finally share what happened after I got home and why I disappeared for three weeks. #FunnyPodcast #Relatable #ComedyPodcast #FunnyGirls #GirlsPodcast #WomenPodcast #MillennialPodcast #femalepodcast #popculture Hosted on Acast. Five Seconds

This week on Currently Cringing, Anisha spirals from booking a Japanese hair straightening appointment to questioning the meaning of life after smashing an ant. After years of avoiding pools, oceans, humidity, and basically any activity involving joy, she’s finally surrendering to the fact that she married a man whose love language is water. Which means boats, beaches, Italy, and accepting that some other woman’s dream is your personal nightmare. We discuss: • Why curly, frizzy hair has controlled far too many of our decisions • The shame of becoming the person who chews loudly on the phone • Why eating one square of chocolate at a time is a full-time job after forty • The terrifying realization that you’re starting to behave like your parents • Japanese hair straightening, Brazilian blowouts and why “just wear your hair natural” is enemy propaganda • Why an ant’s death might actually be the most efficient exit strategy • DJ Khaled’s controversial courtside performance and the privilege of paying attention • Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Jordyn Woods and why the Kardashians somehow appear at every major cultural event • Why celebrity culture feels increasingly manufactured • European hotel prices, Italy fatigue and why Montenegro, Albania and the Balkans deserve more attention • The New York Knicks comeback and the lesson hidden inside five seconds • Why life can change in an instant and why it’s never too late for miracles • Spencer Pratt running for mayor, Gwyneth Paltrow backlash and the absurdity of modern politics • Why independent thinking has become controversial • Billionaires, influencers, algorithms and why everyone seems to be auditioning for Netflix clips • The mystery of the beautiful tomato that tasted like swamp water • The surprising scientific reason tomatoes sometimes taste fishy • High-protein tofu burgers, fiber overload and digestive regrets • Why social media wealth isn’t always what it seems • The rise of anatomy-based entrepreneurship and why you shouldn’t compare your life to strangers on the internet And finally, the lesson that came from an unbelievable Knicks game: Five seconds is a long time. Five seconds can bring a comeback. Five seconds can bring a miracle. Five seconds can bring a text message, an opportunity, a breakthrough, or an entirely new chapter. So if you’re feeling behind, broke, stuck, or convinced your best days are over, stay in the game. Because anything can happen.
