Bobby takes us from the Glasgow of his birth to the Big Bands of the 1950s, his residency at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz club in the 1960s, through his non-playing years of addiction to his return to regular recording and performing for the last 40 years of his life.

The film looks at the draw of the city and its margins. For the project, blues, folk and experimental musicians, including Jazz legend Bobby Wellins, created performances on the edges of a Brighton that may, at first, appear unrecognisable.
