D3toPro is dedicated to covering the stories of NCAA Division III athletes who have transitioned to the professional level. We believe every athlete has a story of struggle and achievement that is worthy of sharing. By collecting the athletes' journeys in one place, we hope to further strengthen the bond of the DIII community.
Luke Campbell (Salisbury Track & Field): 11x NCAA Champion and German National Team 400m hurdler
Luke Campbell graduated from Salisbury University as the most decorated Track and Field athlete in the history of DIII. He now has his sights set on competing in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Connor Hudson (Pomona-Pitzer Tennis): Singles and Doubles All-American
Connor Hudson was a singles and doubles All-American at Pomona-Pitzer. Connor and I discuss how training on a squash court and doing “wild” fitness training helped him going into his All-American senior year, the value of spending a year playing local money tournaments, how the international Futures experience differed from the comforts of Southern California tournaments, and how not constantly adapting your plan and approach to the game can ultimately lead to a lack of drive.
Al Reeser (Claremont McKenna College/USC): Director of Player Development and Biomechanics at Sports Rehab LA
Al Reeser is the Director of Player Development and Biomechanics at Sports Rehab LA. In this episode, we discuss why he is so passionate about training and movement, the importance of training focused around preventing injuries versus rehabbing only when you’re hurt, authenticity and how it helps him connect with the athletes he trains, mental health and the connection between movement and emotion, what it takes for DIII athletes to make it as pros, and much more!
Amanda Conway (Norwich Hockey): 3x All-American and NWHL's Connecticut Whales forward
Amanda Conway was drafted 19th overall by the Connecticut Whales in the 2020 NWHL draft. In this episode, she discusses growing up in a hockey family, why she chose DIII, winning a National Championship, and realizing the dream of getting drafted.
Tom Aubrun (Norwich Hockey): 2x All-American and AHL's Rockford IceHogs Goalie
Tom Aubrun discusses his amazing career at Norwich, the French hockey scene, learning to deal with pressure, learning to understand himself, acting like a pro at the D3 level to set himself up for success, and much more!
Noah Droddy and Stu Newstat (DePauw Running): Co-hosts of D3 Glory Days
Noah and Stu discuss the D3 running experience, Noah's incredible pro running journey, whether runners give up their dreams too soon, Stu's coaching message, and much more!
