Mariners look to FINISH the job

On today’ Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett and the Go-2-Guy Jim Moore joins Puck from the Tri-Mountain golf course outside of Vancouver, Washington on his way up to Seattle.  Puck and Jim discuss tonight’s pivotal game three between Seattle and Toronto. Both Puck and Jim are real confident that Seattle can pull off the sweep with them having the advantage in the pitching matchups the next two days.   “Inside Pitch” with Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times, joins Puck to preview a HUGE game three with the Mariners leading 2-0.   George Kirby gets the ball tonight and Puck and Divish talk about what allows him to rise to the occasion in the postseason. They also discuss Bryce Miller’s game one performance, which allows Dan Wilson to have his bullpen at full strength.  With the Mariners having the pitching advantage in game three and game four, it is highly realistic the Mariners can sweep Toronto.   What is the status of Bryan Woo?  Divish updates the latest on the Mariners best pitcher.  Puck then switches gears to talk Seahawks, “Inside the Bloody Trenches” with Rob Staton from SeahawksDraftBlog.comand they chat about the Seahawks defensive performance last week against Jacksonville and what a turnaround it was from the Tampa Bay game.  The running game continues to be an issue, why?  Rob discusses a story he wrote about potential trade targets for Seattle and Puck reacts to the names and one in particular catches his eye!  Over to college football as Puck gives you “Old Crimson” Light, a five minute portion of his weekly Washington State Cougars podcast with Jim and former All-American safety Paul Sorensen as they look back to the Cougs near win at Ole Miss and look ahead to their matchup against Virginia.  Lastly, Puck wraps up the show with, “Hey, What the Puck!?”   Time for the Mariners to quickly finish the job against Toronto  (1:00) Puck and Jim  (28:36) Inside Pitch with Ryan Divish, Seattle Times  (41:03) Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com  (1:04:38) Old Crimson” with Paul Sorensen and the Go-2-Guy  (1:10:41) “Hey, What the Puck!”

    Mr. October Jorge Polanco !

On Tuesday’s   Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is under the weather to start Tuesday’s show, but is pushing through because the Mariners have moved one step closer to the World Series with a game two win at Toronto.  So many heroes for game two, but the postseason storyline continues to be Jorge Polanco and his 2025 turnaround. The bullpen was fantastic again being led by Eduard Bazardo!    The show pivots to college football as John Canzano from JohnCanzano.comjoins the show to chat about all the recent firings in college football with James Franklin out at Penn State and Trent Bray let go at Oregon State. College football is losing its patience. Could former Cougs head coach Nick Rolovich be the leading candidate at Oregon State?  Also, how close is the BIG 10 to private equity and what does that mean?  And, what did John learn from Oregon’s loss to Indiana and Washington State’s near upset of Ole Miss? Danny Kelly of The Ringer pays Puck a visit to chat about the unbelievable season from Jaxon Smith-Njgiba, another Seahawks road win and Puck proposes a radical idea.   Who is currently the best team in the NFL and why is the Seahawks running game struggling.  Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio is on his way to Seattle and joined Puck from the airport to discuss the first two games of the series and how surprised he is that Seattle is up 2-0.   Jim and Puck chat about Seattle’s pitching matchups that are left in the series and they pay a visit to the NLCS and Blake Snell’s performance in game one.  Puck wraps up the show with, “Hey, What the Puck!?”    Tip of the cap to Jorge Polanco. Just an amazing turnaround from a year ago.  (1:00) Puck  (10:32) John Canzano, JohnCanzano.com  (30:32) Danny Kelly, The Ringer  (48:38) Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio  (1:02:30) “Hey, What the Puck!?”

Mariners SLUGGER Cal Raleigh OWNS Toronto and the Blue Jays!

On today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett and the Go-2-Guy, Jim Moore open up the show discussing the Mariners gutsy game one win over Toronto in the ALCS.  Bryce Miller was fantastic and Puck makes the case that it was the Mariners most impressive starting performance in playoff history.  Puck and Jim have a good laugh on Blue Jays manager John Schneider’s behalf for his comments on Cal Raleigh in the past and his decision to pull Kevin Gausman from the game, a tactical error.   Puck and Jim touch on the Seahawks win, JSN’s performance and the Cougars almost shock the world.  Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic joins Puck from Jacksonville to breakdown the Seahawks win over the Jags.   The defensive line was the story for the Seahawks and they dominated the game. However, the game should not have been that close, and it’s on the offense and specifically the running game to make sure that doesn’t happen again.  Back to the Mariners as Bill Krueger, host of the “Old School Baseball” podcast joins Puck to breakdown the Mariners game one win vs. the Blue Jays and why Bryce Miller was so effective and where is performance ranks in Mariners history.  Cal Raleigh continues to dominate the Blue Jays.  Jorge Polanco, with each passing game gives you professional at bats and Bill reacts to the Mariners decision to start Logan Gilbert and not Luis Castillo in game two.  Puck wraps up with, “Hey, what the Puck!?”   Patience is lost in sports, especially in college football.  (1:00) Puck and Jim  (32:00) Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic  (49:15) Bill Krueger, “Old School Baseball”  (1:22:21) “Hey, What the Puck!?”

On Friday’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined as always by the Go-2-Guy Jim Moore and Chris Egan from KING 5.  It’s all Mariners on their Friday as they get ready to face the Detroit Tigers in a game five elimination contest.   How are the boys feeling??!  They discuss Dan Wilson’s decision to go with George Kirby over Luis Castillo and they all agree that they want to see Dom Canzone in the lineup rather than Mitch Garver at DH.  Lastly, they all predict the score for tonight’s game.  Puck then heads over to football with “Football Friday Tailgate Show” and first up is Todd Milles, VarsityWaNews.com for “Friday Night Lights.”  Puck and Todd go over the top games in the state on Friday night and they discuss Puyallup’s lopsided win last weekend over Sumner.  Puck then switches gears to the Seahawks and it’s “The Last Word” with Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.  Bob and Puck talk about the mounting and lingering injuries in the Seahawks secondary, the Seahawks lack of a consistent pass rush and they preview their matchup against Jacksonville on Sunday.  Puck wraps up the show with “Hey, What the Puck!?”   The Mariners earned their situation tonight. Sleepless in Seattle

On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason "Puck" Puckett begins the show chatting about yesterday’s game four loss to Detroit and now they turn their attention to game five in Seattle with Tarik Skubal on the mound.  Mariners fans are nervous and justifiably so. But, as Puck points out, if you asked Mariners fans before the season started would you take an elimination game at home we all would sign up for it.  Puck also says it’s clear to him who should start on Friday and it’s Luis Castillo.   Puck then welcomes Mike Garafolo, NFL Network to talk about all the top storylines in the NFL, including the Seahawks loss at home against the Buccaneers and there matchup this week against Jacksonville. Puck and Mike also discuss the year of the reclamation quarterback project in the NFL.   The Raiders are in a free fall, would they make Maxx Crosby available at the deadline?  If so, Seattle should pounce!  They also chat about the Ravens “must win” against the Rams and Baker Mayfield’s MVP campaign and are the Bucs for real in the NFC? Brad Adam and Puck did a ROOT Sports After Dark Post-Game Show on Wednesday, Puck played a portion of that show back on Thursday where Puck and Brad discussed some of Dan Wilson’s bullpen decisions and who should start Friday.  It’s another edition of KJ-Arent’s with Mitch Levy, host of the MitchUnfiltered podcast.   Mitch and Puck are real nervous for Friday and won’t be able to sleep until the first pitch on Friday. The full KJ-Arent’s with Mitch is ONLY available to Puck’s Posse members at PuckSports.com.   Puck wraps up the show with, “Hey, What the Puck!?”    Easy decision, start Luis Castillo  (1:00) Puck  (17:15) Mike Garafolo, NFL Network  (40:00) Brad Adam  (51:15 ) KJ-Arent’s w/ Mitch Levy  (1:03:59 )  “Hey, What the Puck!”
