Cannabis & Integrity: Contributing to the Industry with the Right Intentions

Cannabis & Integrity: Contributing to the Industry with the Right Intentions

Daniel Woeck is the owner of Lifted Aloha. Lifted Aloha is a family-owned company that is passionate about formulating cannabis products with high-level intentions and organic CBD, sourced locally from the healing island of Hawaii. He joins me to tell his story of choosing the big island as his home and how this led to him opening Lifted Aloha.
Chasing materiality is fleeting; intentions in cannabis are everything
First, he shares how he became a cannabis user later in life, but how this has shaped his life ever since. Then, he states that helping others should be the first reason to be in any industry, but particularly in cannabis. Unfortunately, this industry has been recently filled with people whose sole goal is to turn a profit. They enter because they see an opportunity in the market, not because they love cannabis. It is not that making a lot of money from cannabis shouldn’t be a priority, it must be done with proper intentions. Is it any wonder that so many well-funded companies are failing in this industry time and time again?
Leveraging Cannabis Marketing Regulations in Your Favor
Furthermore, we deep dive into how to properly brand and market a cannabis company with strict regulations in place. In that regard, he explains why brands should never remain stagnant. He talks about how important it is to remain flexible while conveying your message and making sure to implement feedback from mentors and customers. Most importantly, we discuss the ways to bring massive awareness to your brand. Unlike other industries, this has to be without spending a dime on Facebook and Google ads. Not only are we not allowed to spend on these ads, but it is a wonderful thing because it creates a level playing field.

Warren Pulley brings to SILO more than thirty years of experience in business operation, asset protection, process management, brand recognition and business analysis from a number of successful global companies. Next, he shares his perspective on why the war on drugs has been a complete failure. On that note, he also calls for the need for better social equity in the industry. Finally, he talks about why the black market continues to thrive and how we can curve that. In all, Warren is dedicated to ensuring that licensed, regulated business owners are protected while remaining compliant.
Expanding on Warren’s Background in Cannabis Security

Craft CBD: The Art of Creating a Better Hemp Experience

Craft CBD: The Art of Creating a Better Hemp Experience

Michael Tullis is the founder and owner of Early Fruit Hemp Co, a small business that distributes craft CBD and hemp products. In the shift of different jobs and finding out where his professional career was going, Michael gained the skills and customer service basics to land a position with UPS. During the time he spent pre-loading packages, he was able to open a small business called Early Fruit Hemp Co.
“I founded Early Fruit Hemp Co. to provide my friends and family in and around West Texas with quality, craft hemp, and CBD products. I have been a witness to the benefits that hemp has on our physical health, our clarity of mind and to the planet we all share…” – Michael Tullis
If Crafted Right, You Get Better Tasting Beer and A Better CBD Experience
Michael joins me on this episode to share the ups and downs in starting a hemp company while holding a part-time job, and why craft CBD is actually less expensive than the mass-produced CBD. He also tells me why sourcing from farms who use organic and sustainable farming practices and knowing where your hemp flower and CBD extracts are coming from is very important in the cannabis industry. Early Fruit Hemp Co stands behind this philosophy to ensure the craft of a superb product and experience for their customers overall. Finally, Michael shares how hemp has always been used to improve our lives, our communities and our planet as a safe, natural and beneficial way to find relief, even beyond all the new hype it has gained in the young but evergrowing cannabis industry we all know and love.

Finding Reliable Information on Cannabis and Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Finding Reliable Information on Cannabis and Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Curt Robbins is a technical writer, instructional designer, and lecturer who has been developing science-based educational and training content for Fortune 200 enterprise companies for more than 30 years. His clients have included Federal Express, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Northrop Grumman, National City Bank, Strainprint Technologies Ltd., the J.M. Smucker Company, and USAA.  Robbins began writing about the biochemistry and science of the various wellness molecules produced by plants such as hemp in 2003. As a former writer for High Times and Cannabis Culture magazines, he has since developed more than 600 educational articles about hemp and its various health components, including terpenes, cannabinoids, and the human endocannabinoid system. In 2019, Robbins developed a 50-page white paper regarding the hemp cannabinoid cannabigerol (CBG) that explored a fourth potential species of this unique plant genus.
“My obsession, since I was an undergrad journalism and psychology student, has been to document complex systems and processes in such a way that the information becomes truly engaging and educational for non-experts and laypeople. My present goal, in light of the emerging green rush, is to deliver a solid and enlightened understanding of the complex and nuanced biochemistry of wellness molecules such as cannabinoids and terpenes,” said Robbins.
Utilizing this World Pandemic as a Time to Learn and Teach Others
Curt joins me on this episode to share the ways we all can avoid the misinformation circulating about cannabis and Coronavirus. First, he talks about how some companies are using influencers who are also shareholders to boost sales by spreading lies about a correlation between cannabis and a cure for the Novel Coronavirus. They may not be doing it out of malice, but this behavior leaves a black eye on the industry nonetheless. Next, Curt shares his expertise on how to find credible sources. Ultimately, Curt states that we, unfortunately, have to dig deep and cross-references sources, even if they have been reliable in the past.  Finally, he shares what he is doing to develop a training curriculum for the cannabis industry.

Integrating CBD into Functional Medicine: A Key to Homeostasis

Integrating CBD into Functional Medicine: A Key to Homeostasis

Heather Green is a Functional Medicine Practitioner and the founder of The Cats Meow CBD. The Cats Meow is a company that carries products that are 100% organic, vegan, non-GMO and gluten-free. As a functional medicine practitioner, she understands the value of CBD and the endocannabinoid system in a world that relies so heavily on over the counter anti-inflammatories and opioids that continue to destroy our bodies. In her opinion, it is oxymoronic to have chemicals or synthetic ingredients in products that are supposed to be aimed at improving your health.
CBD as an Added Component to a Functional Medicine Practice
Heather joins me on this episode to tell me she is using CBD to help her own patients in functional medicine. First, she talks about how to track inflammation using patients’ lab work before and after using CBD. Next, she explains the role homeostasis plays in overall health and how cannabinoids helps achieve that. To add to that, she emphasizes patience as the processes take time to achieve balance. Furthermore, CBG research is promising, especially when coupled with CBD. Finally, she talks about why it is so important to clear our industry of bad products and miseducation.
