This podcast is great, and brings a lot of informed discussion! A perfect 5/7

Four stars because I want y'all to be successful but I have my challenges. I hope this will be helpful to the hosts and listeners alike - Pros: Diverse and excellent selection of games, depth of knowledge in the field As a recovering art school graduate, the discussion has a recognizable fervor of discussing minutiae of the work with the intensity of something really important. It is clear the hosts know a lot about the field, but the format of discussion leads to them debating small issues and leaving me not knowing what I should be taking away. Something I enjoy about reading good art criticism is that you can learn a lot from a clear argument about a work even if you haven't experienced the work. The critic can tell you what they learned from the work, what themes the work was trying to tackle, what other works have tackled the same themes. I think the chat format leads to good arguments being buried by minor debates. As a listener I would prefer structure, whether that involves breaking the work into parts (art, writing, procedures, maps, layout) or taking the hosts arguments separately as a main argument and responses. At any rate, keep making stuff, and thanks for the fever dream that was Over/Under, Sam.

This podcast does an excellent job of making me shake my head in annoyance (good). I would love it if you had Yochai Gal on here as a guest to round out the curmudgeonly air on this podcast. Seriously though, excellent podcast, you don’t get discussion this good anywhere else. Makes me wish I lived in NYC so I could come to the book club and argue with Sam’s absurd takes.
